FC: The Five Themes of Geography | By: Austin Vanover
1: The first theme is location. Location is a place where something is or could be located. | There are two types of location. The first one is absolute location. Absolute location is the exact location of something. The next one is relative location. This is described by landmarks, time,direction or distance.an example of relative location is my house is north of California.
2: f | The next theme is place. There are physical places and human places. Physical places describes land and water features. Human places describe cultural groups living in a place, their way of living, and economic activities.
3: The third one is human-environment interaction. This is how we effect the earth and how the environment effects us. For example there are floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes. Those right there effect the way we live. They can destroy our homes and properties.
4: The fourth theme of geography is movement. The moving of people and trading goods have played major roles in shaping our world. People interact with each other through movement. Food also moves as people travel the world they bring new types of food with them and introduce them to other cultures.
5: The last theme of geography is regions. There are three types of regions, formal, functional, and vernacular. Formal is defined by government values. Functional is defined by a functions. For example a newspaper service. Vernacular are those loosely defined by people's perception.
