1: What caused the depression? the depression had a number of different causes. one of them was unequal distribution of wealth. another cause was high tariffs and war debts. There was also over production in industry and agriculture. and there was the most effecting cause was the stock market crash and financial panic.
2: how long did the great depression last and who did it effect? the great depression lasted about 10 to 15 years. during this time America felt an economic blow that took some time to recover from. Also during this time many people have suffered. middle class workers saw major unemployment rates, and many people lost there jobs. banks suffered as well, with the panic of the people with their fear of losing all of there money took it all of it out of the bank. so the banks had no money to pay there debts so they went out of business. major business suffered as well because, no one was buying products they had no money to pay workers, so they got fired. ultimately these companies went bankrupt
4: What was life like during the depression? Life was vary hard during the depression. Because of bank failures many people lost there homes. this started the pop up of shanty towns known as Hoover-villes all over America. the people gave them this name because they blamed FDR for the depression. although FDR is one of the causes there were many more than gust his mistakes.
6: What ended the great depression? What ultimately ended the depression was the United States start in WW2 after the bombing on pearl harbor. after this people and industry became important to the war effort. with the demand of weapons, aircraft, artillery, and foods. with this demand the economy of the US was brought back from the abyss.
