1: Life during the Great Depression was dreadful and many people could not support their family
2: There really wasn't a main cause of the depression but there was a series of events that led up to it.
3: The series of events were the stock market crash of 1929,bank failures, | Reduction in Purchasing Across the Board,American Economic Policy with Europe,and Drought Conditions.
5: The Great Depression was from 1930 to 1939 | During the Great Depression stocks fell 40% ,86,00 businesses failed, and wages were decreased by an average of 60%
6: During the Great Depression 9,000 banks went out of business and 9 million savings accounts gone.
7: The unemployment rate increased from 9% to 25% | There was 15 million people jobless
8: Almost all people were affected by the depression like the farmers. Men were not able to put food on the table and because of the hob loss and the food shortage and prices.Women and children were left on the streets because their houses were taken.
9: What ended the Great Depression was Roosevelt's plans to implement more jobs and to help the money problem. He also set up unemployment agencies and insurance for out of work people.He also set up programs like social security and he allowed unionization.
