S: The Great Depression
BC: The Great Depression was a very hard time in the world. There were not a lot of resources. Many people died and suffered through this situation. Although many made it out, many also died. It was one of the worst things to happen in history.

1: The Great Depression was caused by the stock market crash of 1929 and the bank failures.
2: The Great Depression lasted about 12 years.
3: It started in the fall of 1929 when the stock market crashed.
4: The Great Depression ended in 1941 when WW2 started.
5: Life during the Great Depression was the worst it's ever been.
6: The lower class people were now pretty much homeless.
7: Most people were suffering due to low income, if any at all, barely any food, and no place to live.
8: The upper class weren't suffering as bad as the lower class.
9: The Upper class people owned most of the shops and factories so they still had a bit of income, unlike most people.
10: When WW2 started the Great Depression ended.
11: People started working more. There were fathers and sons in the war while the mom's were in the factories making equipment for the war.
12: Many people lived in "hoovervilles". They were shanty towns built by the homeless people.
13: The homeless people used anything and everything they could get their hands on to build houses.
14: People slept where ever they could.
15: They made what little they could, where ever they could.
16: Not only did it affect Americans, it affected the world.
17: Due to our poor economy we stopped oversea trading. Which sent other countries into a Great Depression.
18: Companies started handing out free coffee and donuts to the unemployed.
19: Many kids were unaware of the situation and had no idea how bad it had really gotten.
20: Recovery was a very good time for the lower class people.
21: The lower class people actually had money for housing and food during the start of the recovery.
