BC: In the end, everything was starting to get back to normal. People were starting to get jobs, money from Social Security, and food/clothes for their family. People got exactly what they wanted. The End Published by Leeanna Gotto

FC: The Great Depression By Leeanna Gotto

1: The Great Depression was caused by a crash in the stock market in 1929. People all over had to wait in lines to get food from the government. Rich people didn't get treated differently even if they had the money to pay the government.

2: The Great Depression lasted from 1929 to 1939. A whole 10 year period. To pass the time a whole bunch of women began sewing on a large quilt.

3: Some families even made baskets

4: Some people had to use paper from the wrapping of food to use as toilet paper.

5: Everyone was affected during the Great Depression. Especially families with alot of children.

6: When the Great Depression ended, tons of people were left without jobs and money. If you had a large family with 10 or more kids, you had to find food anyway you could when it was available.

7: Things got a little bit better but it wasn't the same after the Great Depression was over. It lasted for 10 whole years. When it was over, people were getting by with what they had. Some people moved to different states to find new places to live.

8: Families were still hungry but they tried to get by.

9: If you were really lucky, you could stand in line to get 1 bottle of fresh milk to share with your family.

10: Some people had to make their homes out of different types of garbage on what ever they could find.

11: A lot of people ate pigs to survive on when there was nothing else to eat.

12: When people had to keep their hands cleans, they would wash their hands in a bowl sometimes outside.

13: Even though the banks were closed, a lot of people tried to get money because they haven't been receiving any and it was making tons of people angry.

14: People started a march because they were unemployed. They even stood outside the unemployment office.

15: During the Great Depression, different shops and restaurants created breadlines for citizens in New York City. When parents were out of the house, all the kids had to help make dinner.
