2: Fear and Respect
3: Amir sees his father in several ways. He revers him but also resents him for his treatment of Hassan. "With me as the glaring exception, my father molded the world around him to his liking. The problem, of course,was that Baba saw the world in black and white. And he got to decide what was black and what was white. You can't love a person who lives that way without fearing him to. Maybe even hating him a little." Pg15
4: Pride | These two pictures show Amir's pride "And that right there was the single greatest moment of my twelve years of life, seeing Baba on that roof, proud of me at last" Pg 66
5: His pride is seen as the catalyst for most of the problems that he faces.
6: Redemption | Amir's redemption comes when he prays to Allah. This is very important because he is getting rid of all the wrong he's done to Hassan. As shown in the photo on the next page where he hits him with the pomegranates.
7: "There is a God, there has to be, and now I will pray, I will pray that He forgive that i have betrayed, lied, and sinned with impunity only to turn to him in my hour of need." Pg. 346
8: Love | "You're Still the morning sun to my Yelda" Pg 356 This quote is important because it shows the undying love he has for his wife and how she literally is the light in the hellish nightmare he faced In Afghanistan
9: "For you, a thousand times over." | THis quote is repeated several times throughout the book. IT is very important because it shows the shift of Amir. He has become unselfish. This is showing that Amir is capable of the loyalty that was once shown by Hassan.
