1: The National Mall is located in Washington DC. Constitution and Pennsylvania Avenues NW are on the north of the Mall, 1st Street on the East, Independence and Maryland Avenues are on the south of the Mall and 14th street is on the west.

3: The US Capitol Building is one of the most impressive architectural structures in the United States. Construction began on the US Capitol in 1793, but it has had many construction phases. The US Capitol has housed both the US House of Representatives and the US Senate for over 2 centuries

5: The Smithsonian or the "Castle" was the first building on the National Mall. It was built between 1847 and 1855. It was originally designed by James Renwick. It was rebuilt with some structural changes in 1865 after a fire destroyed much of the building
