1: The Pearl Joshua Beaty 4th pd. Mrs Crew.

2: John Steinbeck was born February 27th 1902 and died December 20th 1968 at the age of 66. He was an American prize winning author who wrote a total of 72 books in his lifetime. The image and information are from Wikipedia.

3: La Paz Mexico. La Paz was once an area of Spanish rule which still experiences the racial tension to this day

4: KIno Protagonist, father of Coyotito, and Husband of Juana

5: Juana Wife of Kino and mother or Coyotito

6: Coyotito Late son of Kino and Juana

7: The Beggars The ones who know all of the sins in the town

8: Chapter one. Kino Wakes up and everything is peaceful and happy, but then a scorpion stings Coyotito and they go to the doctor even though they know he will turn them down which he does and Kino gets mad and strikes the gate.

9: Chapter two Kino is still mad at the doctor, but Coyotito seems to be doing better so they are somewhat happy. Kino then goes to work in the pearl beds and finds the pearl of the world which Juana prayed for.

10: Chapter three Word that Kino has the pearl spreads throughout the town, which causes greed and envy to take root into the towns peoples hearts such as the doctor 'curing' Coyotito.

11: Chapter four Kino travels to town to sell the pearl, but he realizes he is being cheated by the buyers and refuses to sell the pearl and says he will go to the capital.

12: Chapter five The evil people strike out against Kino and try to steal his pearl while burning down his house and smashing a hole in his boat. He and his family then decide to leave the town to avoid more trouble.

13: Chapter six Kino and his family are tracked into the mountains where they hide until night. Kino attacks the main tracker as he fires a shot into the air which strays and kills coyotito which we learn in the end.

14: I would say the moral of the story is wealth is not measured in money, but in happiness instead..
