1: What is the sun and why is it important to us?

2: It is mostly composed of gases such as hydrogen and helium. | The sun is the star at the center of the solar system and has a diameter of 865,000 mi.

3: The energy from the sunlight drives earth's climate and weather.

4: The Water Cycle

5: The sun is the largest source of energy for the earth providing both heat and light energy. This energy is especially important in helping plants grow through a process of photosynthesis. The sun also plays a huge role in the water cycle by evaporating water so that it can condense and form rain. Why is the sun important to you?
