Once upon a time in the southern Atlantic Ocean, there lived a family of dolphins. There was Momma, Fredrick, who was strong but clueless, Willy, who was smart and small, Loosha, who was kind-hearted and wise, and Charlie. Charlie was different from them all. Charlie was a whale who was obedient, smart and strong.

His Mother, Fredrick and Willy all treated him like a piece of roting seaweed because he was different from the rest of them and fat. The only family member that treated him nicely was Loosha. Since she was treating him nicely the others started to treat her horribly too.

Charlie had to put up with Willy and Fredrick's mean insults such as the time Willy said, "You have so much blubber you can't even see your own tail." While Willy and Fredrick laughed, Charlie continued on with his chores which were forcefully given to him by his mother.

One day Charlie got so fed up with his brother's insults. Fredrick said, "Charlie you have a barnacle for a brain." So after that Charlie took off swimming as fast as he could to the North. Loosha called after him to stop. "Charlie don't run away. Without you here, I won't have anybody to talk or play with." She said, "Please don't go Charlie!" "I can't put up with this anymore, so I guess this is good bye." Charlie said. Charlie then started to swim away again, and Loosha stood there watching him until he disappeared from sight.

Charlie swam away as fast as he could until he found a coral reef. There was a lot of seaweed and rocks in this area. A great amount of plankton floated around the area. There were a few little cracks in the earth and a bunch of caves. “This is great,” said Charlie, “It would be a great spot to hide from my family.” Little did young Charlie know, that a great evil force lurked this particular coral reef.

“Charlie!” screamed Loosha. She had swum as fast as she could but she could not catch up to Charlie. “I'll never find him,” she panted. She knew that there was only a slim chance that she would find Charlie, but it was a chance that she was willing to take. She promised herself "I will never give up until I find Charlie, no matter how hard and how dangerous it will be.

As Charlie was swimming through the coral reef, he saw a flash of movement. It was a Great White Shark with a horrible reputation. Charlie thought to himself, “Oh man, now I’m in big trouble, but you never know as Loosha always says "Never judge someone by their looks." Who knows he could be a nice shark.” The shark's name was Lockjaw. Lockjaw had ripped his dorsal fin and his right fin had a tear in it. There were many hooks in his fins and tail. Those were signs of the many fails of the humans catching him.

Charlie tried to swim around Lockjaw but Lockjaw spotted him and made a beeline for him. When Charlie saw him coming for him he knew he was done for. Lockjaw came close to him, very close. Lockjaw said, “If I were you, I would've never come near here; this is my part of the ocean. “Sorry sir,” Charlie said, “I was just trying to find a place to hide from my mean family.” “Oh well, you're mine for a while.” Lockjaw growled. So Charlie had to be Lockjaw's slave.

Loosha was tired and exhausted from searching nearly everywhere for Charlie; South, East and West. Now it was time to go north and search for him. She was heading north when she heard a low sound that sounded like a laugh. It made her shiver. She went to explore the noise and saw Charlie there with a huge Great White Shark. When the shark left to go hunt, she swam slowly and cautiously toward Charlie. “Charlie,” she whispered, “What are you doing here?” “I'm being forced to serve this horrible beast,” Charlie replied, “Ill never be able to escape!” “Yes you can Charlie. Yes you can,” Loosha said, “Follow me.” Just after Loosha said that she took off swimming farther north and Charlie swam after her.

Loosha stopped when she was about a mile away from the coral reef. “Take the Black Pearl from the ring of pearls on my tail,” Loosha said, “It will grant you one wish.” “Why are you giving this to me?” asked Charlie. “Because I know how you feel, I want to make you feel more... like you fit in with us dolphins.” Loosha told him. “Okay, here it goes,” said Charlie. “ I wish I was a dolphin.” Suddenly a spark of light appeared and engulfed Charlie. Whenever the light disappeared Charlie emerged as a muscular and beautiful dolphin with sapphire eyes and navy blue skin. “Charlie, you look amazing!” Loosha said. “I do?!” Charlie asked, “I do!” Charlie and Loosha swam back to where their family was. Momma, Willy and Fredrick all thought Loosha was bringing home a friend from somewhere else. Loosha was saying that the dolphin with her was Charlie, but Fredrick wouldn't believe her. Willy asked “How did you do it?” Charlie replied, “The famous Black Pearl did it all.” After that the family treated Charlie better and Loosha said, “Never judge someone or something by their looks.” And the family lived happily ever after.
