1: I would like to dedicate this book to Ms. Cooke and Mrs. Colpoys for helping me with my history research project and fixing my computer when things go wrong. I chose the topic 'US vs. China' because I wanted to learn about the cultural, educational, and historical differences between the two countries. | Dedication
2: In this book, I will be talking about the similarities and differences between the U.S.A. and China. Both of the countries do not have many similarities but they differ in many ways. They vary in their economy, education systems, religions, geography, culture and more. The Chinese and The Americans are totally different people. China has an incredibley strong economy, because the US keeps it strong for them by purchasing their inventory.
3: The United States and China are two completely different countries. Even though they share few things in common, they still depend on each other for economic support. | Thesis
4: Government China | -China's government has always been subordinate to the Chinese communist party. -Voting age is 18 -In China, people do not have a lot of political or economic freedom, the government has say in almost everything
5: Government U.S. | -The United States government is constitution-based federal republic, strong democratic tradition. -Voting age is 18 in the U.S. -In the United States, large business firms actually make most of the decisions, unlike in China where the Government has complete control over peoples rights.
6: Technology China | -In China, they usually invent things like computers, cell phone devices and different kinds of weapons -With China's development of gun powder and weapons, war was significantly altered -Although the United States remains the world's most powerful nation state, for centuries China stood as a leading civilization, out doing the rest of the world with their arts and sciences
7: Technology U.S. | -In the middle of the 19th century was a golden age for the American inventions. -The new technology to come to America has improved the standard of living and has linked the U.S. across cultural divides. -US firms are at the leading place in technological advances, especially in medicine.
8: Economy U.S.A | -The United States has the largest and most technologically advanced economy in the world. - The U.S. is the leading industrial power in the world
9: Economy China | -China is in the top three largest economies in the world -China and the United States are both leading trade countries -Today, China's population is over 1.3 billion people, which is the largest in the world. _
10: Geography and Culture China | -The traditions of family life in China is a strong family led by the father and husband, who largely has absolute rule and control of the family -Religion plays a major part in the roles and responsibilities of family members - -Architecture and arts are a big part of China's culture. They are known around the world for their famous arts such as calligraphy
11: Geography and Culture U.S | -The United states is a less developed country because its no where near as old as China is. -The United States is known around the world for the films, shows, and musical performances. The population of the United States tends to be centered in large cities
