1: US president during 1942 | This year Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Executive Order 9066, this order demanded the removal of resident enemy aliens from the West marked as military areas. He order to inter thousands of Japanese civilians in camps in the inland West. This year there was a drop of unemployment by 2%, relief programs ended and the industrial economy grew fast as millions of people moved to new jobs. Men and women were drafted/volunteered for war.

2: Shocking Homicide in 1942 | Edward Joseph Leonski also known as the "Brownout Strangler" was a serial killer in Australia. His murders started on May 3, 1942 with the victim Ivy Mclead. She was beaten and strangled. Six days later Pauline Thompson was murdered by strangulation after a night out.

3: The next victim was 9 days later she was a 40 year old and was also murdered by strangulations. Witnesses described the suspect as a young men with an American accent. There was also other survivors that described the same man seen at the murder sites.

4: The 3rd victim was Gladys Hosking, a 4o year old women that was murdered when she was waking from work at night. She was also murdered by strangulation and was beaten. Some witnesses saw a man covered in mud and out of breath running from the crime scene. He matched the description of the suspect seen at the other murders.

5: Leonski was sentenced to death at a United States Army general court-martial on July 17, 1942 after he confess to all the murders.

6: Major Event in 1942 in the U.S Feb 19, 1942: Roosevelt signs Executive Order 9066

7: President Roosevelt Signs the executive order to allow the removal of people with Japanese ancestry from military areas to create military exclusion areas. More than 110,000 Japanese Americans were taken to camps and were not treated so well or lived in good living conditions.

8: International Event (The Battle of Midway)

9: A plan to invade Midway was made by the Japanese, because Japan was trying to gain control of the Pacific. In May 1942 the plan for Japan was to lead the US Pacific fleet into battle to destroy it. Then on June 4th four Japanese carriers were attacked and sunk by US aircraft. Do to this attack Yamamoto were forced to withdraw. This battle was the first allied victory against Japan. This US attack stopped Japan's Pacific expansion.

10: U.S Event August 8,1942 German saboteurs executed in Washington

11: In 1942 Hitler ordered German saboteurs to attack United State's civil infrastructure. Germans submarines were sent to the American Coast but a US coast Guardsman spotted them and told the Coast Guard Station. Then the FBI was called to find this saboteurs. President Franklin Roosevelt ordered a tribunal of 7 generals to try this men to preserve wartime secrecy. All 8 men were found guilty and sentenced to death. On August 8, 1942 saboteurs were executed in Washington.

12: 1942 U.S. Army launches K-9 Corps

13: After the attack on Pearl Harbor on March of 1942 the Corps launches what is known as the K-9 Corps. Some of the breeds selected were German Shepard's, Doberman Pincher's, Collies and Schnauzers. The demand for K-9 grew so this breeds were trained for the Navy and Coast Guard. This K-9 were trained for about 8-12 weeks, and they were trained for sentry, patrol, messengers, mine, and for war.
