FC: The Story of Web 2.0 | How Using the Web Allows Us to Connect

There once was a pair of siblings, who grew up and lived very far away from each other. They were close growing up so they wanted a way to stay in touch and be able to keep updated on each other's lives. They could call each other.. but that just didn't feel like enough. | Chapter One:

Then, the siblings discovered the Web. They realized they could use it as a tool for not only exploring... but also interacting, sharing and creating! | Chapter Two

Pretty soon, the siblings were blogging, uploading and commenting. They were able to get more out of their experience on the internet. Creating and editing content allowed them to be in control of what was online.

Before long, the siblings were interacting on the web through all sorts of mediums! They used flickr, Facebook and Woodpress reguarly, to become the servers of their own domains! | Chapter Three

On the "blogosphere," the two could post text, images, links and even videos! Using Web 2.0 gave them a connection they had never online. They were even teaching each other how to access new information!

They were able to tweet at each other and follow live streams. Organizing their information became simpler than ever. When you're the one creating on the web, it's more exciting to share and develop. Their posts and tags were all up to date, and available at all times, day or night.

Web 2.0 was connecting the siblings, even from miles away. | Chapter Four

As technology advances, it allows those all over the world to engage in a community of learners and sharers. Just as the siblings learned to keep in touch with Web 2.0, students in classrooms can do the same!

The web is used everyday for different purposes and different goals. By exploring common interests or communities on the web, we can all begin to get just out just as much as the siblings did!
