FC: What would life be today if the famous 5 did not exist? By Davis Grade 6 Due Oct 7 Elbow park school
I was asked to answer this question in a Mixbook. In the next 10-20 pages I will tell you about three things women could not do if the famous 5 did not exist. Those three things are the army, sports and jobs. These are three thing women could not do if the famous 5 did not exist. | Our class has been learning about the Famous 5 and would like to tell you about them. Each one of them has made life better for women all over Canada. If it was not for them women in Canada would not be able to do the things they love to do. I thought of studying this and made a question. What would life be like today if the famous 5 never had existed?
women would not be able to work if they were married. Many women would be forced to live on the streets and would struggle to make money. Many women would never be able to do what they love or want to do in their lives. | The first thing women would not be able to do it because men thought they were tougher and that the women would not be strong enough. The famous five thought women could do it and they gave women a chance. But what would happen if | Work
Many would speak up and protest for their rights to work. Many women would fight for their lives. Can you blame them? If you had to fight or you would live on the streets what would you do.
Women are 52% of the people Canada and the world. So imagine at least half of the people in the world on the streets because they did not have a job. That would make Canada seem like a bad country. Maybe another country would come to Canada to make war.
over the jobs for the men when they went to war. Women would not fight for their country because men didn't think they were tough enough. Women didn't get equal rights or freedoms. My question is if the famous five did not exist would women be able to be in the army? | Back in the 1900swomen were not allowed to be in the army. The only thing they would be allowed to do would be to take | War
Many women think they are lucky to be in the army and are glad they are representing their country by going to war and helping our world be a better place?
The war proved what the famous five believed. It showed that women can do men's jobs and do them well. Like this photo of women in the factory. Did you know that in world war 2 45,000 women got the chance to work in the war effort.
Well technically women were in the army before the famous 5, but only as nurses. Nursing was one of the ways that women could contribute to their country in war.
Back a long time ago women were not allowed to play sports. Men thought they would rather go to tea parties or something like that while men played sports with their friends. | Sports
Did you know that in 1900 women were only allowed to play 3 sports? croquet, golf and tennis. Today they can play more than 30 sports!!!!
Many sports such as golf have become big business for women. Some women make millions of dollars a year by it.
So we have learned three things women could not do and why they could not do it. The famous 5 gave women rights by protest. They worked months and months to make womens rights better. I hope you enjoyed my presentation.
