Table of Contents | Page 2 & 3: Symbols Page 4: Values Page 5: Norms Page 6 & 7: Material Culture Page 8&9: Free Pages

Symbols | I chose a cross as a symbol because I am Catholic and my faith is an important part of how I live my life. I was just confirmed recently this month which was a major step toward my faith and loyalty in the Catholic Church. | I chose a shoe with wings as a symbol for my love for running. I have been on the track team all of middle school and all 4 years of high school. I have participated on the cross country team for two years of my high school career. Running is a big stress reliever and i also love the competition.

I chose the Kimberly Papermaker wasp as a symbol because I am a senior at Kimberly High School and have been in the Kimberly Area School district all my life. | I chose the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh logo because it is where I will be going after I graduate from Kimberly High School to further my education. I am planning on majoring in Elementary Education so it will be a big part in my life.

Values | I chose a picture of my family because family is a value that is the most important to me. I would do anything for my family and I know that my family is here with me to support me through the good and the bad times. We are always there for each other. | I have a picture of my good friends Erin and Claudia because friendship is something I value very much. They are the greatest friends, who always lend a helping hand and are just fun people to be around. They are very loyal, selfless, and respectful and the list could go on. I am so grateful for their friendship.

Norms | The picture of a flag is one example of a norm in my life because it has been a must to respect our flag and all that it stands for. I follow this norm by standing up every morning to recite the pledge at school and to place my hand over my heart whenever the National Anthem plays at sporting events. | It is a norm in our family to help each other out and pitch in to do chores around the house.

Material Culture/Technology | I chose a picture of my car because my car is how I navigate to the places I need to go to. I need this type of technology in order to live the kind of life I live, like getting to and from school and work and other things. | My laptop is material culture that is important to me because its a way for me to communicate. It also is part of technology to help with homework and other school related things and for my enjoyment like listening to music.

I chose a picture of my phone because my phone is a big part of my culture. I love to socialize with people and it is a way on how I communicate with friends.

Extra | My whole life I have been defined as being a twin. My sisters name is Samantha and we are like night and day. She is always there for me and is my best friend and my worst enemy at times. Being a twin is what makes me unique but at the same time hard to be my own individual person. It has its perks and its disadvantages, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I love to read! I enjoy escaping reality by getting lost in a good book. My favorite author would have to be Nicholas Sparks or Mitch Albom. Not only do I love reading, I enjoy watching movies. I absolutely love the movie Up and any chick flicks like The Vow.
