I am in labor in this picture! My contractions started in sacrament meeting. I went with Dusty to Primary and he kept timing my contractions. We had to leave half way through! We went home and I took a shower to be sure it wasn't false labor...and took this picture. Then, we went to Hale Elementary to get my classroom together! Kimball was three weeks early. On Friday, I had a parent night where families came to tour the "Rain Forest." There were no desks or chairs in my classroom and my desk was a "waterfall!" I even had to create sub plans for the week before we left! We went to the Superstition Springs Mall and walked around for an hour until my contractions were too strong and we went to the hospital!!! Every time I laid down, my contractions would stop. So, we walked the halls. Dusty would spin me to make me laugh and would reward me with popsicles. He is so good to me! | Dusty worked so hard getting Kimball's room done before he came. He put in hard wood floor and did all of the stripes. He did an amazing job!

SPAIN | Dusty loved photographing the old city of Barcelona...so much history and "color" to see! | Dusty found an amazing deal on tickets to Barcelona...so we celebrated our third anniversary in Spain! I loved showing him where I served! So many memories of Plaza Catalunya...the Peruvian music is still playing!

Dusty fell in love with "Geoffres" while we were in Spain. We would weave our way through the cobblestone streets of the old city every night so that he could have one. They were heavenly and it was so fun to just meander together! | It was fun to wander the Christmas Markets and see all of the many nativities! I showed Dusty the "dumpers." There was even a life size nativity in one of the cities many squares. | I love all of the Christmas lights adorning the city!

Dusty loved the modern side of Sagrada Familia. It reminded me of running from the police ! | Arc de Triomf reminds me of my first Christmas in Spain! | Parc Guell has amazing mosaics and views of the city!

The Palace and Olympic Stadium were amazing! | I found out about Dusty's fear of heights on the funicular ride down the mountain. | We followed the hotel's recommendation for paella. I was craving a great paella...we had to walk forever along the beach to get to eat it because the restaurant was out of my area. I had no idea where it was! Dusty did not think it was worth it...but I did!

It was amazing to go to church in Barrio II in Barcelona and L'Hospitalet. I served in both wards for 6 months. It was incredible to see how families had grown and see old friends! Josef and Arabella got engaged while she was a ward missionary. Archie always had us over for dinner! | We helped reactivate Fernanda and her son started the discussions when I was transferred. Hermana Vacas always came with us to charlas! | Barca Stadium...three blocks from my greenie apartment (first floor)...the windows would shake during games!

We took the train to Taragona. It was gorgeous! Our hotel was right on the Mediterranean. The sunrises were amazing! We also had an amazing view of the Roman Forum and Coliseum. | Gladiator entrance complete with gladiator!

We walked the original Roman roads along the old walls and loved the museums too! | We told the pajes what we wanted for Christmas and had churros dunked in hot chocolate! So yummy! Then, we took the train back to Barcelona

We did find a bench for a little European PDA...we fit right in with everyone around us! | Thanks honey for the walk down memory lane and for making beautiful memories of our own. I wish we could do it all over again! | Dusty wasn't sure about going in the back of the plane!

You love balls and it was nap time during the photo shoot! They were the only thing that would make you happy! You are so inquisitive and love to point at things with your little finger saying, "Oh!" I am so glad that she captured that little moment! We love to hear you laugh and smile. We love you buddy! | Big 1 year old!

I have been pondering this talk and realized that my parents were very good at creating those types of traditions. They also focused on another category turning our hearts to our ancestors. The themes of the yearly "cousin camp" always taught a hymn and had a spiritual theme, sometimes with an ancestor slant. We had regular FHE and family prayer. We would take "scripture trips" where we would color in on a map to our destination a certain milage for each page read from the Book of Mormon. We had monthly goal setting interviews with my Dad. Every Memorial Day we have the Larson Family Paper Airplane Contest in honor of my grandpa who was a pilot and over Vetran's Day my parents always reenact a part of the Book of Mormon from renting our clothes for the Title of Liberty (that was a shocker Dad) to facing our tents towards "King Benjamin." During the "Spoken Word" on Sunday morning we always had waffles and ice cream with strawberry sauce. Then, we would watch conference together. Kimball REALLY likes this tradition!! Thanks Mom and Dad for creating such fun and spiritual traditions. | During April General Conference, the General Primary President, Cheryl C. Lant, gave a talk about traditions and how they shape our children's lives. She asked are they based on faith? Are they influenced by the spirit? Do they make it easier to follow the prophets? Do they encourage service? Do they bring the family closer together?
