FC: Cape Cod

Hello, My name is Hunter Leonard and this is my project for our Cape Cod trip. Before we left, I had an idea. I wanted to make a music video. I’ve always wanted to make one, but not on a field trip of this scale. And I might make one for the DC trip next year. I was somewhat doubtful about this trip, thinking this trip and the video would be a total failure. But it wasn’t. And this is my project to show you how fun it was for not just me, but for everyone else. My main worry was the video. But I still had others, and I bet other people did too. Worries like the bus ride, sleeping at night, my camera battery dying, and getting pictures for this project were some of them. But why talk about worrying? In my opinion, the trip turned out great and none of my worries came true. I think the Dunes were the funnest part of the trip, and I can safely tell you that other people would agree. In the Starfish group, we went to a ton of places. You’ll see these places throughout this memory book. And I hope that you enjoy not just this one, but all of our projects from the Cape Trip.

Getting ready to leave for the trip! The buses should be arriving any minute! | Jumping off swings... So much fun! | At the Playground... Our first stop!

AT The Beach. Too cloudy. On the shore at Crosby Beach. Lots of rocks and shells! | It was now. We are at the beach. I could feel all the sand with my feet. There were a lot of them, rocks. They were all different colors, the rocks. The sun was setting on the beach. I kept on walking, sinking into the sand with my feet. The ocean was cold, I could feel it with my feet. The hermit crabs loved to live in the rocks. I was having a great time at the beach. My feet walking, my eyes looking at the rocks, the beach being as beautiful as it can be.

Journal 1 Doane's rock It’s 3:07 and the sun is bright. We were just at Button Bush trail. It’s a trail for blind people. They have ropes on the side to help blind people walk and stay on the trail. I have been working on the music video all day, and I hope it comes out great. This rock is in the trees, and all shady. It is also very bumpy. There are little pockets filled with water. It’s hard to believe that this rock was pushed all the way from Canada! | Doane's Rock!

To write a poem Pantoum I look out into the ever-ending sky, wondering what’s out there. My mind feels as far as the horizon, trying to concentrate and bring it back. Wondering what’s out there, I see nothing but blue. Trying to concentrate and bring it back, in order to write this poem. | Back at the camp... Everyone's doing something!

Jeans were a bad choice. Sun beating down, heaven at the dunes. Except when you are unfortunate enough, to have to wear jeans. The wind is relieving, even when you are suspended in mid-air, air rushing past, relieving the anxiety from your bad morning decision, to wear jeans to the dunes. | At the dunes... we had a blast!

At The Dunes... | getting some massive air! Flying like a bird! He jumps with style! Good action photo! Got everyone in back... Got the dunes behind him! Walking down the dune. Doing a flip. 3-person massive air. Like a boss. Like a boss. Like a boss.

Looking for something... Osprey? | Found a nest! Anything inside? | Nice group photo. Stalkin' the birds. | Sitting on a pile of rocks. how'd that get there?

 Lookin' for Osprey!

Journal 3 Light house We were just at the Dunes. I had so much fun and bet that everyone else did too. I got a lot of videos to use, mostly in slow-motion. I’m at the lighthouse right now, but we can’t go inside. It’s really foggy, we can’t see the ocean. There are a lot of plants and bugs here, I think that this would be a great place to live someday.

The Light house In a foggy background. Group Photo! See me?

After the drag... We got tons of plants and crabs! | Hello seal!

On the Navigator... | The Paparazzi has arrived! | After the net... Too much sea life!

Ode to Buses Ode O, bus. Yes, the engineering feat which is known as you, Intrigues only people like me. From your screeching, roaring outside to your soft, hum of the air conditioner on the inside. you lack no comfort. Fast or slow, hot or cold, Everybody enjoys you. To your soft chairs, to the obnoxious engine, You upset none.

 On the peaceful buses...

At Cedar Swamp... | On the trail... | Journal time!

Journal 4 Cedar Swamp We are on the trail now, lots of poison ivy! The water is like a milky tons of algae and plant life. This is our last day, we all packed up this morning. On the trail, the trees are all short because the ground is mostly sand. The sand causes the trees to be short because the taller the tree is, the bigger the roots are, because the ground is mostly sand, roots can’t grow that deep and that causes the trees to be tiny!
