1: "Families are like fudge mostly sweet with a few nuts." ~Author Unknown | 2011 Highlights - Aidan's birth and adoption - New bike and trampoline for Ben -Aidan's baptism in May - Ben's 3rd birthday in June - Visits with Aidan's birth parents Cole and McKenna in February, July, and December - Canada Day celebration at the Provincial Legislative building -Summer camping trip to Crooked Lake Provincial Park - Visit with Ben's foster parents Hettie and Gerry in September -Ben begins Sunshine preschool in December - Christmas in Burr and Lanigan

2: In January, as we awaited our second adoption, we were matched with birth parents in Moose Jaw, and Aidan was born on January 31. We held him for the first time when he was one hour old.

4: Aidan's homecoming

5: The best thing about me is you. | We returned home with Aidan on February 2nd. Grandma Doreen and Grandpa Wilf were staying at our house with Ben and they were all very happy to meet Aidan.

7: Once a goofball, always a goofball

8: Growing... growing... growing

9: In February we celebrated Dad's 32nd birthday. Aidan continued to grow and change, and Ben and Mom enjoyed having Dad at home during his parental leave.

11: We spent the late winter months learning how to balance a family of four, and watching Ben and Aidan grow and develop.

13: In April Ben learned how to ride a bike and had it mastered in about one week. We also purchased a trampoline for some backyard fun. Aidan spent lots of time snoozing - and awake - in his baby swing.

16: Aidan was baptized on May 29, 2011. Along with Terry,his godfather, we celebrated at St. Martin Parish and our families joined us for the day.

18: We celebrated Ben's 3rd birthday with a party in late June. We had planned some backyard activities but got rained out at the last moment so the party moved indoors.

19: We attended the Canada Day celebration in Regina and had lots of fun checking out a fire engine, petting zoo, bouncy houses, and cannon fire.

20: In July we went to Moose Jaw to visit with Aidan's birth parents, Cole and McKenna. We also spent lots of time in the backyard and at local parks. We sold our Cavalier and Sunfire and became a one-vehicle family.

22: Getting Back To Nature | In August we took a family camping trip to Crooked Lake Provincial Park in the Qu'Appelle Valley. We spent 3 days and 2 nights enjoying the great outdoors and getting very dirty.

24: We attended the Queen City Ex in late August and Ben had a blast riding almost all the rides in the Kid Zone. We met all kinds of animals at the petting zoo and some goats that weren't very hungry at all.

25: September was a month of visitors for us - Auntie Sandra was at our house for several days, and Sr. Claire came to visit. We also went to Saskatoon to visit with Ben's foster parents Hettie and Gerry.

26: In October we spent Thanksgiving in Burr and Lanigan. We enjoyed beautiful weather that weekend and spent lots of time outside.

31: Ben and Mom attended a Christmas Party at the RSM museum where we saw some live reindeer, decorated cookies, and got spooked by Megamunch.
