"Life is a game, Play it; Life is a challenge, Meet it; Life is an opportunity, Capture it

 ...

Look at everything as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time. Then your time on earth will be filled with glory

Life is partly what we make it, and partly what it is made by the friends we choose.

The love of a family is life's greatest blessing

Im grown up now with a daughter of my own I let her drive my old jeep Cross the pasture at our home Maybe one day they'll reach back in her file And pull out that old memory And think of me and smile, and say It's just an old worn out jeep With rusty ole floor boards Hot on my feet A young girl, two hands on the wheel I can't replace the way it, made me feel And he'd say, turn it left now, and steer it right Straighten up girl now, you're doin' just fine Just a lil' valley by the river where we'd ride But I was high on a mountain, when daddy let me drive Daddy let me drive

This was a life that had hardly begun No time to find your place in the sun No time to do all you could have done But we loved you enough for a lifetime. No time to enjoy the world and its wealth No time to take life down from the shelf No time to sing the song of yourself Though you had enough love for a lifetime. Those who live long endure sadness and tears But you'll never suffer the sorrowing years No betrayal, no anger, no hatred, no fears Just love , only love , in your lifetime

When I first met him I was working part time in the "Snack Bar"at the old Wal-Mart store in Oskaloosa. He made me think of a lumbar jack with the full beard, plaid flannel shirt, bibs and heavy looking boots. All he needed to complete the picture was a saw and an ax. When he came he would order his food, sit at a booth along the east wall and watch me off and on. Made me a little nervous until I got to know him and then he was just a big teddy bear. All bark and no bite. One night after working at the Snack Bar I walked out to my van, opened the door and there on my seat was a bouquet of a dozen red roses. I closed the door right away thinking that I had gotten into the wrong van, walked all the way around it to make sure it was mine. He was watching me from his car to see my reaction. He then came up and asked me if I would like to go to McDonalds for some coffee or something and just talk, I said I would but I would go in my van and meet him there ( I also wanted to make sure it was a well lit place with a lot of people just in case) We talked for awhile, decided we had a lot in common and planned another date......

After a few dates I had him meet Tim and David and then we planned another date so Tim and David could meet Bobbi Jo and Katie. Thinking of that still brings a smile to my face. Bobbi on one side of the booth and David on the other side when the waitress accidently knocked over that stack of glasses with pop in the top one all over David, and only paper towels in the rest room to try and dry his shirt. I remember folding paper towels between David and his very cold shirt. Tim and Katie were putting quarters in a machine that drops down a toy and when they came back to the table Bobbi and David were still laughing about what happened. | Sandy

When Rebecca left me and the kids 2 weeks after my dad passed away, you took me aside and had a long talk. You really helped me get through everything and you have alway been there for me. Just like a Dad would be. ----John | I don't remember when I first met Mike or when he and Sandy got married, but he seems like a nice guy and they have been together 12 years so he has to be a nice guy. - Liz Walton - Soule

Tim remembers when he was younger people would say that he and Mike sure looked a lot alike, Mike would never correct them he would just smile. It was their little secret. As Tim got older he and Mike always got into arguments. Mike trying to teach him things to keep him from making the same mistakes he did growing up and Tim doing things his own way. Both of them were as stubborn as the other. ----Mike was the only "Dad" that I really knew, he has always been there for me good or bad. --Tim

you put the GRAND in grandpa

To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world

 Three Generations

We may not have it all Together

But Together we have it all
