1: The Cypress Dietetic Association encompasses many small counties in central Florida. This year's membership totaled 23 members. The CDA often has a difficult time getting the community involved in health conscience initiatives. During the month of March the Cypress Dietetic Association participated in the 13th annual Purple Day/Walk for epilepsy in Lakeland, FL. One of our artistic members created t-shirts for the members to wear. | Many of the members decided that in order to get people interested in nutrition and health there needed to be rewards. Many members held contests at their places of work to get people excited about eating healthy and provided gifts for those that participated. One of our members was featured in a local magazine. She was interviewed as an expert in the field of nutrition and dietetics and was featured on the cover. The article was about healthier options for meals in the workplace.
