S: William Harris Homestead

1: First we took a Group Picture.

2: Then we met a Civil war soldier. | Mr.Robby

3: He showed us what they wore. They even had to carry Their beds on their backs!

4: Ms. Margret | Afterwards we went to the creek and saw their Refrigerator,Washer,,and there bathroom.

5: Our guide told us that The boys carried the water all the way into the house. Plus she showed us how to wash clothes. | Crossing the creek.

6: We took a hayride. It was so fun.We went up and down fast and slow. It was cool seeing how big the Harris' property was.

7: Afterwards Mrs. Melissa showed us the log house.

8: Then Mrs. Melissa Showed us pictures of William Harris and his wife. | The wife | William Harris

9: She told us the family was 18 slaves 10 kids Plus the 2 parents.

10: She showed us the whole process Of making a shirt. Mrs.Melissa told us that to make a shirt it took about 2 months! They walked 22 miles on the spinning wheel.They died their shirts with plants and berries. imagine making a dress!

11: She showed us the kitchen. The dried fruit too, It was dried so it wouldn't rot.

12: Afterward we went in the cellar with Mrs. Jeanene.

13: She showed us the fruit being dried.

14: We went to the medicine garden. | Mrs. Jeanene showed us the medicine garden. She told us lamb ear was used for stomach aches. Lemon leaves helped a cold since there was no Tylenol.

15: Mrs. Jeanene showed us how to make candles. | It take about 89 dips to make a candle.

16: We went to the cemetery were the family members were buried.

17: We went in the smoke house.

18: We went out to the cotton fields. we picked cotton just like the Harris kids we got to see the seeds and how big they were. Mrs. Jeanene Told us that this was one of the hundreds of tasks.

19: We saw a border collie herd sheep. when Mr .Hank (the trainer) talked Cap (the dog) did as told.Some of his commands down , faster and slow down.It was amazing seeing that dog!!

20: We saw Mr. Robby shoot a musket. The musket was from the colonial times. It was really loud! While we watched him he hollered out commands. He told us it takes 17 seconds just to load the gun.

21: After a long day we finally ate lunch.
