FC: My Birthday in Germany | By: Lindy Erikson

My name is Steffen and I am from Germany. Today is my birthday and I will be turning 8.

We first plan indoor and outdoor games. My favorite game is called "schnitzeljadg". This is a treasure hunt where we read clues to find the hidden treasure.

Before I open all of my presents in front of my friends and family, they will sing a song to me. My family always sings me "Zum Geburtstag Viel Gluck" which means Happy Birthday to you.

This is called "kinderbowle" which means fruit punch | This is called "spagettinester" which means spaghetti

Then the food is served. We have a main course, drinks, treats, and sweets.

My favorite meal is "wurstchen im schlafrock". We call it pig legs in a blanket because we wrap hot dogs in a biscuit.

My favorite drink is "eisschokolade" which is a chocolate float. This tastes so good because it is chocolate milk and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This is my favorite part of the meal. I love eating "ein haufen dreck". This means a pile of dirt. It is chocolate pudding, graham crackers (or oreos), and gummy worms.

These are many favorite things to do and eat on my birthday. What are you favorite things to do on your birthday?
