1: The Global Fanderson Marathon was hosted by groups worldwide from March - May 2009. Fans gathered throughout large cities, small towns and remotely via the Internet. The day consisted of a viewing party of "all things" [07x17] and two Gillian Anderson films of each group's choice. In addition to the screenings, many hosts included other fundraising activities in their events, such as trivia games and raffles. 100% of all monies raised went to Off The Street Kids. In addition to raising much-needed funds for a great cause, hosts were given the bonus incentive of a small prize going to the group host who helped raise the most money for OTSK. As a result of these efforts, in addition to the sales of charity DVDs, IBG donated $3,100.00 to OTSK in June 2009.
3: We held a small (but perfectly formed) marathon in Barrow upon Soar, UK. We - from right, Gill, Lucy, Emma and Georgina - started by making our own rather fabulous pizzas, before tucking in to all things. Next up was the truly mighty Mighty Celt. The grand finale was I Want To Believe. By the end of the evening we had raised money for OTSK and converted two X Files virgins into hardcore Philes! Good work all round, thanks IBG and, of course, Gillian. xx

23: Our unbelievable meeting happened when the users of the “Beyond the Sea” website decided to attend the “Telefilm Festival” in Milan. What a best occasion than a charity event to meet the people that we knew just from the internet? We watched both The X-Files movies in a crazy overnight marathon (till 4 am!) through nostalgic tears, breathtaking surprises, and funny videos. It was a real pleasure to share the same feelings of the other fans seating next to them. Thank you for being such a great inspiration! 27: IBG hosted the marathon in our hometown, Los Angeles, CA. Thanks to the generosity of Jana Fain and Frank Spotnitz, we were granted access to the 20th Century Fox lot for the event. The IBG team along with nearly a dozen other fans gathered on the lot the morning of 09 May 2009. We embarked upon a self-guided tour of The X-Files shooting locations and sound stages, then headed off to The Paley Center to view the 1995 Paley Fest panel on the silver screen. Much to our delight and surprise, an actor who appeared in the episode Triangle spotted our screening on the Paley lineup and stopped by. We capped off the fundraiser by returning to our Brentwood headquarters for a feast of junk food, a rather intense trivia game, and a viewing party of all things, How To Lose Friends and Alienate People, and Playing By Heart. We were happy to host fans from all over California - those local to the Los Angeles area to those who traveled in from San Diego, San Francisco and beyond - and spent a fun, crazy and spectacular day raising funds for OTSK. | Back row: Tiffany, Aska, Angela, Katy, Patricia Middle row: Lisa, Marisa, Caileigh, Elizabeth, Jacqueline Front row: Jessica, Karen, Courtney, Erica
