FC: Sewage Treatment | What is sewage treatment? Sewage treatment is the water that your done with that does down the drain. But where does it go after? It goes to a big place that takes care of it for you. There, there is primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment. | Primary Treatment. - it goes through a big, fence-like thing with small gaps in between. -Only the liquid can go through, and the solid gets all the excess liquid squeezed out. The remains of the solid would be either sent as a fertilizer, or as waste. | Secondary Treatment -Now that it is just liquid, it gets send to a big tank. The workers add some kind of chemical so that the bacteria stick together and sink to the bottom. The workers then collect it. | Tertiary Treatment -Lastly, the liquid is then added many chemicals to kill the remains of the bacteria. -it is then sent back to lakes, seas, or oceans.

what are some short term affects? -if the water isn't cleaned properly, then it can make some people sick, or maybe even die. -it can harm wildlife; fish, algae, animals, etc. Some chemicals used to clean to water may harm the wildlife. | What are some long term affects? -if it isn't properly cleaned they first time, water can carry diseases. | about 1.2 billion people have no access to clean water. 2 million children die from drinking polluted water. | If the water comes from surface water, then it could have been exposed to: storm water runoff, acid rain, industrial waste, and pesticide runoff. If it came from groundwater, it takes longer to contaminate, and longer to clean.

How safe is this method? It is safe because the chemicals cant really harm humans. But if the water isn't cleaned properly, then it isn't safe for humans. Algae, bacteria, fungi, etc is really bad. | Chemicals in general is not good, but it is better than drinking down all that contaminated water. Chemicals like chlorine,

The chemicals can also harm animals. Once the sewage water is cleaned, it gets sent back the lakes , rivers, and oceans. But the chemicals used to clean the water isn't good for the animals either. It may make them sick. Animals like: beaver, otter, and fish, they spend a lot of they're time in the water. Fish spend all they're time in the water. The chemicals are in their waters, and in the long run it will affect them since they are swimming in chemicals.

Mom and I spent the day together shopping, dining, and getting pampered which was all wonderful, but I'd have to say my favorite part of the day was when we just sat and talked for hours about past memories and dreams for the future. This was the best Mothers Day gift I could have received. I will always remember that day and hope we will get to share many more together in the years to come.

We thought it would be fun to surprise Dad with a day at the river. The kids woke him up bright and early with breakfast in bed and gave him the Fathers Day cards they made. Then we packed up the car and drove to the river where we all went whitewater rafting. We stopped half way down the river to eat lunch and then we hiked up to a beautiful waterfall. Later in the day the kids gathered some firewood for a campfire. We all sat around listening to Dad share stories from his childhood. It was such a fun day. The kids got wet and had a blast and will remember this day with Dad forever.

Kendra, Beth and Leah had a blast on their trip to Colorado this summer. Kendra just got her drivers license and was in the mood for a road trip so they all packed up and left for the open road with Colorado in their sights. It was hard to see my little girl drive away, she is an adult now and its time to let her go. I'm glad they had fun and arrived home safe. She'll always be my little girl...
