BC: The end of the depression | In 1932 president Roosevelt was elected into office he signed the "New deal" in law. This created 42 agencies assigned to create new jobs, allow unionization, and provide unemployment insurance. This alone didn't end the depression. World war 2 also created defense jobs helping to bring employment rates up

5: The Cause of the Depression The 1920's seemed like a great time to be alive but that was just an illusion. On the day of Oct. 29, 1929 the stock market crashed. Americans were spending money that they didn't have by borrowing from the banks, thus cause a lot of stress on banks. People panicked and took their money out of the banks and that made the banks fall
6: The depression made life for every type of family difficult.
8: How long did it last? The great depression lasted about ten years. It started in 1929 and lasted until 1939.
10: Life During the Depression | Life was hard for every type of person. Rich or poor, young or old you would have suffered in some way or another. Not only did people not have very many personal items, they didn't have much food either. During the depression there was a drought making any type of grown food scarce. Also any money you saved in a bank would have been gone because many banks fell during the depression
11: When the stock market crashed it wasn't just the investors who became affected. Every type of family was affected. Rich or poor there you would have suffered a loss. Some suffered more than others but in the long run the depression was a horrible time | Who was affected?
