9th Birthday Nerf War! | Chase decided he wanted to have a Nerf War so we bought him a vest that would hold all his ammo and weapons, rounded up his buddies and headed to the Armory for a fun-filled afternoon.
In mid January, the boys and I decided to take Scarlet on her first sledding experience. It was a very brisk afternoon and we were quite chilled by just the short walk from our house to the hill. Tyler took Scarlet down on his sled and she laughed when they would tip over at the bottom. Chase would follow right behind on his sled and a pile up was almost always guaranteed.

The best thing about me is you.
Our first trip to Hawaii was amazing! The Big Island was gorgeous and the weather itself was perfect. We had the days to ourself for the most part and were wined and dined almost every evening. I think my favorite day was when Travis and I rented a little car and drove around the entire island, just the two of us. We went scuba diving, visited the volcanoes and hiked through a tropical rain forest. Amazing trip! | Big Island of Hawaii Here We Come!

 SCARLET ELISE TURNS ONE
"The more you laugh the longer you live"
Travis and I were in Hawaii during Scarlet's 1st birthday. I had said that no one could make her a cake until we got back home. Grandma Carol, who came with Grandpa Roger to stay with the kids in Harvey while we were gone, made Scarlet a kitty cake when we got home so that we could celebrate.
As a 3rd grader, Chase was able to go out for the Harvey Park and Rec basketball team. The 3rd and 4th graders were coached by Kelly Nitz and Barry Fiedler. The season was seven weeks long and they were able to play each other during half time of the varsity boys home basketball games. Although Chase was not trilled about being strongly encouraged to sign up, he did have fun and said he might even consider go out again next year "without you making me". . . . .
 Ravioli Messy Face
Scarlet Elise was an excellent eater. She was happy to try most anything. Ravioli was not her favorite, she really didn't like anything with a tomato sauce, but on this night she devoured every bite and made quite the mess doing so. It was bath time shortly there after!
All About Chase | Chase loved to create. In the 3rd grade he was selected to be Mayor for a Day based on an essay he wrote describing how he would lead the city if he were to be the mayor. He was thrilled when he came home that evening. The people of Harvey were so good to the kids and made sure they had fun during the experience. Not only was Chase a creative writer but loved to draw, doodle and for awhile was into making cartoons. I loved reading his little animations but my favorite was sneaking a peek at his face while I was reading his work. His expression was a mixture of barely contained anticipation for the praise he knew was coming and pride in his cleaver artwork. He had such an innocence about him that was hard not to smile at.
 BM Hanson | Science Fair
Chase's Science Fair project was experimenting with liquid separations. This was his first year participating in the fair and he was very excited. Tyler's experiment was on sleep deprivation. His partner was Chris Widvey. They stayed up for two days straight and tracked the side effects as well as stimulants used to stay awake. | Science Fair Here WeCome!

 All About Tyler | ............................................
Scarlet love playing with Chase. He was so loud and active and loud, that she just couldn't help but to love him. Many times I would watch her go to the steps and yell for him, "Aish, Aish". Chase was very good about setting aside some time for her each day. He would read her books, pull her around on a blanket through out the whole tiled area and help her stack blocks only to yell and fuss when she knocked them down. She loved that part. The two of them are so similar in looks and personality that it is no wonder why they get along so well.

Baby chicks at the Beiswenger Farm
 Easter at the | Radi's
Happy 2nd Birthday Maci LouAnn! We also celebrated Chase's 9th and Scarlet's 1st with the family.
 Spring Recitals
Grandma Debbie was able to make it for the elementary spring concert where Tyler was performing one of the lead parts. He played Arthur and did an amazing job with his solos. He also played trombone in the 6th grade band. Chase was part of the chorus. He sang loud and did all the actions.
We love our home on Garfield Street! The yard was so well landscaped by the previous owners that we did not have to do a lot to adapt it to our family. The backyard is private, surrounded by evergreen trees on either side, and the lots behind us are pasture land. Scarlet also enjoys the outdoors whenever possible so this year we decided to build a swing set with clubhouse for her. She was a little bit too small to be on it herself but Chase and his buddies took full advantage. | Spring is | is in the air!
 Backyard Bonfire | May 2011 | ............................................
We always love it when Avah comes to visit us but the last weekend in May we were especially excited. We had purchased a new fire pit and were dying to try it out. The temperature was perfect for our first fire and we laughed as the kids took turns tossing popcorn and mini marshmallows into their mouths.

 Midgets baseball
 Pony Baseball
Minnesota TwinsGame July 1st, 2011 VS Milwaukee Brewers
Let's Play Ball! | Travis was given these unbelievable Twins tickets through his work. They were Champion's Club tickets which meant valet parking in a private entrance, a gourmet buffet style supper and desert bar in a luxury restaurant which exited out to our seating area, unlimited beverages and snacks were available through out the game and amazing seats that were just behind home plate. We were right next to the Twins' dugout so after we sampled the buffet the boys stood by the dugout hoping to get an autograph. The game ended up having a 3 hour delay due to weather but we waited out the storm the comforts of the restaurant with the best hot chocolate heaping piles of nachos. After a while the boys grew tired of sitting there and went to see if they were starting the game yet. While Travis and | watched on a TV monitor inside the restaurant the boys got on national television, seen in the background behind the guys singing the National Anthem! Because of the rain delay, they had to cut the Anthem when they televised the game. It was a great day, even if it did get really late. The boys had a wonderful experience and begged to go back again someday although I wonder if sitting in the nose-bleed section will be quite as appealing after the royal treatment they received.

OUR SWEET BABY | After only 2 1/2 hours of scheduled, induced labor and only 1/2 hour of it with an epidural, you were born. You were so beautiful your father and I melted the moment we saw you.
Welcome little one! We're so excited that you're finally here. We have all been anticipating this day for such a long time. Your brothers and sister can't wait to play with their new baby. You are so special and we can't wait to watch you grow and experience the wonderful milestones of your life.
You are a blessing to our family and I hope one day you will look back at this book and know how special your arrival into this world was to us.
"Nothing is as precious or brings home so much love, as a brand new baby sent from above." "A baby girl... one of the most beautiful miracles in life, one of the greatest joys we can ever know, and one of the reasons why there is a little extra sunshine, laughter and happiness in your world today." ~Authors Unknown
Little Miss Scarlet decided one day that she needed a hat. Not just any old hat would do so she scoured the house high and low until she found the perfect thing, Tyler's football pad attached to her head with an elastic headband. How stylish!
 Bath Time
 Cowgirl Scarlet
As how it had been with Scarlet, everyone was amazing with their gift giving for Aliceanna. We received the most thoughtful things from people I had never expected to give. One seed company that Travis deals with, Peterson Farms, sent Alice a horse on a stick that you can ride complete with actual horse noises if your squeeze his ear, and a matching cowgirl hat and handkerchief. Scarlet fell in love with the set and rode it constantly. Travis emailed a picture and video of Scarlet in action to Peterson Farms telling of our appreciation. They immediately send another set so that when the time came for Alice to use HER gift, Scarlet wouldn't have to part with it. That was just the most thoughtful thing and we were so grateful. | Scarlet was, and is, very into accessorizing. She was going through a period in which she had to have every single bow, barrette and ribbon we owned in her hair. I had to come up with creative ways to hold all of them and finally decided that they clipped and tied right into a knit cap. She loved to look in the mirror and admire how pretty she was. Keeping her occupied was a constant challenge and if she was left to make her own form of entertainment she might sometimes end up in the front-loading washer.
Jr. High Youth Group Halloween Party | Bible Lesson | Whose Your Mummy? | For something fun and a little different we got the youth group together for a Halloween party. I looked up spooky bible stories and told them around the campfire. | We split into teams and tried to wrap a mummy the fastest
Reverse Bobbing for Dough Nuts | Dough Nuts | I think our favorite game was bobbing for dough nuts! Not a game we will play inside again but tons of fun trying to finish eating your dough nut without breaking it before the others. Did I mention that the fan they were tied to moved?!
 Trick or Treat!
Scarlet was hilarious when we were attempting to take a nice photo for Christmas cards. I must have been after the boys about proper grooming because she kept staring at them and finally just went to get the spray bottle and hair brush for Chase. Too funny!
Christmas Card Tryouts ~ take 1
We decided to have Aliceanna baptized at Sand Hill Lutheran Church on Thanksgiving Day because we wanted as many of the family present to share this amazing day with her as possible. We also celebrated Ty's 13th birthday as well as Cameron's 1st. A wonderful way to bring the Larsons, Neils, Hegges and Beiswengers together. | Aliceanna Became God's Child | November 24th 2011
