S: Our Fifth Year
BC: Always and Forever
1: "If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you've made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand." | "And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times" | As Erica and Craig's 5th year started, they thought Erica's health problems were in their past and they could finally start to really enjoy married life by taking many vacations and spending time with friends and family. But their relationship would be tested once again, as Erica's health problems came back, this time worse than before and they spent many hours at doctors and hospitals. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger...
3: Craig and Erica went to Rivera maya, Mexico to celebrate one year of marriage. | Greetings from Riviera Maya
4: While in Mexico, a tropical depression hit and it rained for most of their visit.
5: Craig loves history, so while they were in Mexico,they took a trip to an ancient Mayan Temple. Craig climbed to to the top while Erica only made it half way.
6: They kayaked and walked the jungle to experience an ancient ceremony and an underground lake called a cenote.
7: In a mayan village, they repelled down into a open cenote and zip- lined through the trees.

9: Back home, Erica and Craig continued their anniversary celebration. They exchanged typical 'paper' anniversary gifts, enjoyed the top of their wedding cake and toasted with champagne.
11: Next, Craig and Erica were off to NJ to celebrate the Fourth of July at Red Bank's annual firework display. It turned out to be the last year Red Bank would do that, after more than 50 years.
14: Isle of Palms South Carolina | During the summer, Erica, Craig, Matt and Lisa decided to take a trip to Charleston, SC to enjoy the beach, good food and drinks, and just a good time!

16: They took a ghost tour...but it wasn't very scary.

19: While there, Matt, Lisa, Erica, and Craig experienced one of the best meals of their lives dining at Husk in Charleston, S.C.
21: Labor Day weekend, Erica's mom came down for a visit and they had a small BBQ with neighbors to celebrate.
22: St. Maarten
23: During October intersession, Erica and Craig took a much needed vacation to St. Maarten. They stayed in Erica's Dad's timeshare on the border of the French and Dutch sides.
30: Also in October, Erica's sister Robin was showered with luck, love, and happiness on her upcoming wedding.

34: Erica and Craig drove up to NJ to celebrate with both sides of the family. Thanksgiving was a joint effort between Robin, Bryan, Craig, and Erica. They started a new tradition of putting what you are thankful for inside of a roll and trying to guess whose it is.
36: In November, Maid of Honor Erica and Robin's bridesmaids threw an awesome Bachelorette Party for Robin's last night out as a single lady at Harrah's in Atlantic City.
39: 12-10-11 Everyone celebrated the marriage of Robin and Bryan
41: For Christmas, the happy couple traveled to Delaware and were able to celebrate with both sides of the family. Even though they didn't stay home they decorated their house with holiday cheer.
42: New Year's Eve proved to be the best one yet. Erica and Craig celebrated in style with Bryan, Robin and Robin's friends. First it was to a bar for food and drinks. Then it was off to Times Square to see the ball drop. The group was escorted by a friend who happened to be a NYC police officer. The group had the most perfect spot in all of New York City to ring in 2012!
45: Erica was feeling sick again even after having her gallbladder taken out, so the couple decided to meet with a top doctor in New York to try and find some answers. After seeing the doctor, they still did not have answers and Erica and Craig went back to North Carolina. Back at home, Erica's health continued to get worse and she was admitted into the hospital at Matthews Presbyterian for five nights. Thankfully, a doctor took interest in Erica's case and after many tests and 17 months of not feeling well, they finally had a diagnosis...Gastroparesis.
47: Since Erica just got out of the hospital they kept Valentine's Day simple., dinner and a movie.
48: Even though Erica had a diagnosis of Gastroparesis, it was hard for her to manage the symptoms. Erica and Craig made many trips to the ER, Urgent Care, and even another hospital stay as they struggled with the diagnosis.
49: "Whatever comes our way, ah we'll see it through, And you know that's what our love can do."
50: Before | After | The Hair Chop Erica was getting sick of her long hair so she decided to chop 8 inches off.
51: To celebrate Erica's 27th birthday, Craig and friends went to Howl at the Moon and had a blast dancing up on stage
52: Because very little is known about Gastroparisis, Erica and Craig made a trip to the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio to meet with specialists in order to discuss treatment options. While in Cleveland the couple decided to eat in some great restaurants. | One of the restaurants they went to was Lola which is Iron Chef Michael Simon's restaurant. | They also went to Lopez's, which has amazing Mexican style food.
53: They also took a visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
55: Happy 27th Birthday Erica! | Craig and Erica took a last minute trip to Charleston, S.C. with Rocky to celebrate her birthday. They went to the beach and SNOB.
56: Erica and Craig made a last minute decision to fly to NJ in order to surprise Robin for her 25th birthday. They celebrated her birthday at a hibachi restaurant.
58: Happy 28th Birthday Craig! Erica, Craig, Matt, and Lisa went for dinner at E2 to celebrate. Then Erica and Craig had friends back at the house to continue the celebration
60: Craig won principal trumpet with the Union Symphony. For his last concert of the season, his parents, Erica, and Carrie went to support him and listen to how amazingly talented he is.
61: Erica and Craig flew up north to celebrate Kelly and Dave's wedding at Castle on the Hudson.

64: The doctors at the Cleveland Clinic decided that the best course of treatment for Erica would be to have a gastric neurostimulator implanted to help control her severe nausea. Surgery was on May 23, 2012. Craig and Erica's dad were in Cleveland to be there for Erica during this difficult time.
65: A | After spending three nights in the hospital, it was time to recover at home. Craig and Erica's mom were there to take care of Erica during her rough recovery.
67: Rocky's turning 2! | For Rocky's birthday, Erica and Craig took the birthday boy for lunch, went shopping at Barbara's Canine Café, and to Freedom Park. To celebrate, Erica made Rocky a birthday cake.
