S: Jase & Whitney Larsen 2008-2009

FC: Our First Year | 2008 & 2009

April 2008 | This is our first home. Isn't it so cute?! Jase purchased it in January of 2008, a few months before we got married. It has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. It's located in Providence. Some of our favorite neighbors are Eric & Celeste Mortensen, Scott & Andi Hyldahl, Jed & Loree Jensen, and Derek & Breanne Miller. | Larsen's 457 N 100 E Providence, Ut 84332

Traveling | Jase & I were really lucky to go on what we called our 2nd honeymoon. We went to Europe with his parents and his little sister, Whitney. We were on the plane for over ten hours, but it was well worth the trip. We flew into Paris, France and stayed there for a couple days. Then we flew to Barcelona, Spain. Jase's family has friends who live there so we got to visit and stay with them for a few days. Our last stop was Rome, Italy. This was probably my favorite place because of the gelato ice cream. I'm sure we ate atleast 2 every day! It was awesome. We had such an awesome time! I decided that I love to travel, especially with Jase. I can't wait to go on many more vacations with him in the future. | May 2008

In June of 2008 we went to St. George with our friends Cam, Taya, Ali, and Andrew. We stayed at Jase's parents home in St. George. It is so nice, we love spending time there. It was so much fun! We drove and spent a day in Vegas. It was so hot... it actually felt like summer! We ate at the cheesecake factory, it was so good! We also went to Les Miserables in St. George at Tuhacan. We had never seen it before and we were very impressed at how much we both enjoyed it. We had a blast! It was such a great little vacation for all of us. | our first road trip

In July Whitney's friend Ashley Rose got married. She was a bridesmaid in her wedding.

Love is patient, love is kind. | PIONEER DAY | July 24, 2008

"Families are like fudge ... mostly sweet with a few nuts."

Annual Archibald Reunion | Heber City, Ut August 2008

Jase and I were so excited for halloween this year. Not only because it was our first halloween as a married couple, but we got to host our first Halloween party at our house. It was so much fun. Since we love the '80's we decided to dress up '80's style. Jase tried to dress up like MC Hammer or Vanilla Ice, but it didn't quite work out like we hoped it would. Everybody dressed up and there were some great costumes. We had Pocahontas and John Smith, Michael Phelps and Shawn Johnson, a pirate, a frog, thugs, nerds, and some white trash people. Haha... We have great friends! We ate soup, cute pumpkin soup bowls, and lots of treats. We were so excited to have our first trick or treaters too! Our neighborhood has so many cute little kids. It was a great Halloween | Trick or Treat

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY | December 9, 2008

23 Years Old!! | Whitney surprised Jase with a new gun for his 23rd birthday. He was so excited. He had wanted this gun for a long long time. We had his birthday dinner at Cafe Sabor.

J O Y | Christmas 2008 We spent Christmas Eve with the Larsen's and Christmas day with the Archibald's. We got a new video Camera!

PLaya Del Carmen, Mexico | For Christmas, Kris and Coreen gave the family a trip to Mexico. We flew out on December 27, 2008 and returned on January 2, 2009.

2009 We kicked off 2009 in Mexico. We had a fancy dinner with the family and went back to the house and played some fun games.

 ANNIVERSARY | Larsen Est. March 7, 2008

LOVE | It's hard to believe one year has passed since Jase and I were married in the Salt Lake Temple. That was the best day of my life. Wait... it was the beginning of the best days of my life! I can't believe how much I love this kid! He makes me so happy and I can't imagine life without him. He is the best husband in the world! He is such a hard worker and does everything he can to support our little family. Two thoughts come to my mind as I think back on the past twelve months of married life. One: It's nothing like the movies Two: It's harder but so much better than I ever imagined I don't think anyone can be completely prepared for marriage. That's what makes being married so much fun! You get to learn and grow together. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world... I married my very best friend and everyday we grow so much closer to each other. This past year has been filled with countless blessings for the both of us. We are so thankful for our life together. We've been in Salt Lake all weekend celebrating. It was nothing big but perfect for the occasion. Lots of shopping, eating, swimming, and just being together. The traditional one year anniversary gift is paper... so Jase, being the clever person he is, gave me money! What a perfect "paper gift" wouldn't ya say? It was nice to get away even though it was just to Salt Lake. We are so thankful we got to spend the time together with no WORK or SCHOOL! I was so excited to take pictures and video record our first anniversary. But when I pulled out the camera it was dead and I had no battery charger... Just my luck. I think I could go on and on about the reasons I love Jase, there are millions... but I guess what it all boils down to is that he's my best friend and there's no one else I'd rather spend my life with. Happy Anniversary babe! I look forward to celebrating many many more with you! I love you so much!

On May 15, 2009 Whitney & Steve were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.. The wedding was perfect and Whitney looked beautiful... as always! We are so happy for the newlywed couple and wish them the very best. There's nothing better than being married to your very best friend. Whit's become one of my best buds this last year. Growing up I always dreamed of having sisters. My brothers got married and gave me 4 awesome "big sisters." Since I'm the youngest in my family it's been so much fun to finally be the "big sister" and watch Whitney date and fall in love.

This summer we started the biggest project ever... we've been mudding and sanding our garage, which unfortunately is taking forever! Neither one of us know what we're doing so hopefully the finished project turns out okay. I have to admit Jase has totally impressed me with his texturing skills. He's become a pro!

We also finished our yard this summer. After doing our garage we decided we will never do something like that again. So we hired Legacy Landscape to do it for us. They did a fantastic job. We love it! It's so nice to have trees and flowers. It looks beautiful!

Derby time | Every summer my uncle Arnold hosts an annual derby contest. This year Jase and I ventured out and made our own derby cars. This is what we came up with... "Ruby Zoom" and "Diet Coke" For those of you who don't know Jase, he is addicted to Diet Coke. He always has one in his hand. His favorite gifts to get, for any occasion, are 12-packs of Diet Coke. The only problem with this is I'm becoming addicted as well. Gotta love the Diet Coke. "Ruby Zoom" is a red high heel. Just as Jase loves Diet Coke, I love shoes. This is definitely my kind of a derby car.

 Summer 2009

Our first camping adventure was great! Jase and I camped together for the first time up Logan canyon. We went with the Hyde's, Brown's, Thomas', Jackson's, Ben, and Toph. Even though it rained all day, we managed to have a great time. We lucked out and only had a few drops of rain, until we woke up to it pouring. Luckily, my wonderful husband had prepared us with 20 degree sleeping bags so we stayed pretty warm.

 June 2009

It's The Little Things In Life That Matter | This summer was Ron & Sharon's 50th wedding anniversary. The whole Crookston family got together in St. George to celebrate. The girls shopped, the boys golfed, we did lots of swimming, and of course lots of eating and relaxing. We also had a nice big celebration dinner.

 Chase & Ashley's Wedding | July 2009

 Brooke's Farewell

 July 2009

 Yellowstone

Back To School! | School started this month... where did summer go?? It went by so fast. The good news is we both only have 2 more semesters until we graduate. Jase is graduating in Liberal Arts and Whitney is graduating in Social Work. Whitney also starts her practicum this month. She has been placed to work with Bear River Mental Health in Brigham City. She will be in two elementary schools working with kids who need extra social support. She is excited and nervous about the whole situation. As for Jase, he is kicking butt at work. The internet sales are on fire and he is in heaven with it all. He loves working at Al's and has grown such a love for sporting goods. He is so good at what he does. We are both excited for school to be done and the next chapter in our lives.

 August 2009

 Trick or Treat!

Trick or Treat! | We had another great Halloween party this year. Whitney was a witch and Jase was a monster. The party was at Val & Cam Thomas'.

This year for Jase's birthday we went to dinner at the Coppermill. Jase got a new iHome and some new clothes.

I hope all your birthday dreams and wishes come true! | 24 Years Old! | December 9, 2009

 Temple Square

It's been another great year and we are so thankful for all we've been given. We had a wonderful Christmas with both families. Whitney got a new vacuum and Jase got a new safe for the office.
