2: Upward Basketball | Grant played Upward Basketball this winter at 1st Baptist Church of Marywille. He learned alot about the game and had a lot of fun,too.
3: This year at the Homeschool Math Olympics, Elaine received first place amongst the third graders and Grant received 4th place amongst the 6th graders. Elisabeth placed 5th among the 9th graders and qualified for the next level of competition. (But she didn't receive a ribbon so she wouldn't pose for a picture.) | Homeschool Math Olympics
4: Happy 12th Birthday, Grant! | Starting his birthday off with a special omelet is becoming a birthday morning tradition for Grant! | Elisabeth made Grant two cakes for his birthday. One was a cake with cookies on it and the other was a cookie cake. Both were yummy! On his birthday, we invited family to join us to celebrate. But the weekend before, he had a sleepover with 8 middle-school boys. We took them all to play laser tag then came back for the sleepover.

7: We had a great snowfall, and had to take advantage of it! Mark, Stephen and Chris Clevenger took the kids out to our favorite place--"The Levy"!!!

9: For Elaine's birthday, we spent the afternoon at the Magic House. We always have a great time exploring all the displays.
11: Elaine made a special request for her birthday this year....Texas Cake from Grandma Patsy. It was so yummy! We enjoyed spending the evening with our families!
12: Gavin asked if he could have a band-aid; then, he proceeded to put it on his face....so he could be "just like Daddy." For several days, he insisted on wearing his "mustache." So one day before Mark came home from work, we all joined in on the fun!

15: We got to keep Levi one afternoon in February. He is so cute....and cuddly! | Lovin' Levi
16: The St. Louis Art Museum featured a special exhibit of historical quilts this spring. So for Grandma Story’s birthday in March, we took her, Grandma Patsy, and Nana Joyce to see the exhibit and then out to lunch. We saw some very beautiful, exquisite, and interesting quilts. (Unfortunately the docent wasn't a very good photographer...)
17: For Elisabeth’s birthday this year, we had a volleyball party with all the kids from the Midwest Spikefest volleyball league. They had games on the evening of her birthday and afterward we had pizza and cookie cake for all the teens. The next night, we had all the family over to celebrate with us as well. | Happy Birthday, Elisabeth!
18: Me and Mini-Me... | Grant and Gavin were supposed to be getting dressed for school. We could hear them upstairs; we should have known they were up to something. After several minutes, they came downstairs dressed almost identically--even down to their blue toe-nail.

24: Happy Mother's Day? | For her Mother's Day gift, Shannon wanted to have the pool opened. So in spite of the fact that the temperature was only in the 50's we got the pool opened. After dinner on Mother's Day Sunday, one of the dad's dared the kids to go jump in the pool for a dollar.....

26: GRANT'S FARM | In June while the older kids were at BigStuf Camp, we visited Grant's Farm with the Sniders and had a great day, too.

29: Goopy Grays | We decided to make cornstarch goop one day while Jacob and Caleb were hanging out with us.
30: Happy 5th Birthday, Gavin! | Thomas Snider, Elaine, Sophia Snider Shelby Markus, Gavin, Derek Markus, and Alex Snider
31: After partying with friends in the afternoon, our families all came over to celebrate some more with us. Gavin had a great day!!
37: Exodus Timeline | This fall, we studied the book of Exodus which is the journey of the Children of Israel to the Promised Land. 41: Two of our October field trips included going to Relleke's Pumpkin Patch with the Moms-N-Tots group and going to the Great Godfrey Maze. The kids love the petty zoo and, of course, the corn crib!
42: Fall Festivals | This year we visited several fall festivals and "trunk or treats." The kids had a lot of fun. Elaine dressed up as a gypsy one evening and a hippie the next. Gavin wore a "Thing" costume. Grant, Kenan Keller, Andrew Hartmann, and David Hartmann dressed up as the Four Horseman of Revelation.
43: Boeing Field Trip | We visited the Boeing Museum in November and got to learn about the history of aviation. The model airplanes and rockets were pretty cool to see.
44: Grandma Yoko got a new camera and had to try it out on some of her favorite people.
