1: January 2009 | Asher is 1 month old.
2: Everyone is fascinated with Daddy's new iPhone | At night, after the kids are in bed, we keep Asher up so we can spend one on one time with him. | Look what came in the mail today
3: Asher is not a fan of Daddy studying
4: January 21, Asher meets Papa | Beth decided to hold Asher for the first time that day!
5: We opened Christmas presents with Papa.
6: Daddy helped us fix up the house a little to get it ready to put on the market. We scraped & repainted the front porch, finished Clark's office, and other projects | Cleaning up & removing some broken rain gutters dangling from the house next door. After the hurricane, the house was pretty much abandoned.
7: Papa took Samuel to school one morning. | All tuckered out.
8: Asher's first smile! January 27th. | Clark studies in his newly renovated office. New office, new board exam. Yay. | Katie has a boo boo. | Asher is learning to pick up his head. We sure do love that little thing!
9: Big brother Samuel and big sisters Elizabeth and Katherine all love to help little Asher.
10: January 30. Trinity Episcopal School Kindergarten Circus! | February 27. Rodeo day at Trinity. | A sleepy Elizabeth and her Valentine dog. | Asher sticks out his tongue when he smiles ...
11: February 15, Brad and Arlene come visit. Asher meets Grandmommy for the first time! Asher 2 months old.
12: We rode the ferry over to Boliver one day. It was really sad to see how utterly wiped out the area was after the hurricane. It seemed like nothing had been cleaned up. Cars were still buried in the sand, and there was debris everywhere. | We showed my parents the Yacht club where a boat storage building caught on fire during the storm. Boats that were docked at the marina weren't any luckier, as the wind and waves knocked the boats into each other.
13: February 17 Elizabeth and Katherine's first haircut. About 6 inches each. We went to Lulu's Salon in Galveston.

19: EASTER | happy | We had an indoor Easter egg hunt because it was raining.
20: April 18 We had a big storm that toppled our carport and flooded 8th street. Clark was away at the Duke oral review, so Steph had to clean everything up in time for the open house the next day.! | Dinner out at Salsas Mexican Restaurant on the Seawall
21: One day after school Jane and I took the kids to the beach to play. | At home . . . | Katie tends to fall asleep at lunchtime...
22: Baby Dedication First Baptist Church, Galveston Sunday, April 26 | Pastor Ray Meador did the baby dedication. Afterwards, we went out to lunch at Fisherman's Wharf
23: Nina Carnes took good care of all four of our babies in the church nursery | Stephanie taught Sunday school from 2005 to 2009, ages 1 to 4.
25: May 1 May Fete at Trinity Episcopal School. Samuel's class did a routine to a Spoonful of Sugar. Samuel was a robin and Carolina was a flower. All of the classes had a candy/sugar themed routine.

28: May 22. Samuel's Kindergarten class trip to the beach. | May 12, Stephanie drove to Richardson TX with the four little ones to find a rent house for us to live in the next year. We stayed with Katie and Mary Sue VanSlyke. We found the perfect house at 631 Stardust ln. It has a playhouse, and two little bedrooms, one painted blue and one painted pink. PERFECT. It also had a third garage with an office for Clark to "study" in. | May 28. Samuel's last day of Kindergarten at Trinity.
30: May 2009. Here are some of our favorite homes in the Galveston East End Historic District. We went on many walks in this neighborhood. | This house was our favorite
31: Galveston was home to lots of colorful people. | We will not miss this place. A drug rehab was across the street from our house. We watched them tear this thing down one day in May. | The corner of 8th and Seawall. " We turned here to go home. | The McDonald's on Seawall. Many meals came from this place...
32: May 31 - Clark packed to leave for Louisville KY to take the Radiology Oral Board exam. He had been studying for it since December. I packed him some good luck pictures. | June 13. We found out Clark passed the test! So we loaded up a bunch of his books to take to UTMB to sell. Clark also cleaned out his desk. What a good feeling! Now we can officially move on! | We rode a carriage downtown, something I had always wanted to do in Galveston.
33: June 7. We went to a birthday party for Caroline Dowling at a wildlife safari place in Dickinson. It was the last time Samuel would see his classmates from Trinity. We had a great time, despite the blazing heat!
34: Time to move out! | Clark, Jacob Oomen, Roy Riascos, Kim Kirschner, Oscar Cano, Doug Hughes. Looking stylish... | On June 17, We shipped off Samuel, Elizabeth, and Katherine to Daddo's house for a few days for our big move.
35: June 18 | C | The last picture I took of our house. | The moving van drives off.
36: June 19. The moving van unloaded all our stuff to our rent house in Richardson. We left that evening for Abilene to start our much deserved vacation | Richardson
37: June 20 -27 We went on vacation to Colorado to see Daniel and Micah.
38: June 28. We stopped by the farm in Cross Plains on our way back to Richardson.
39: July Clark bought a C320 Mercedes to get him to and from work each day. The kids call it "happy car"because the grill looks like a smile. We are settling down to life in the Dallas area. We discovered North Park Mall. A nearby park where Clark can sail his new RC boat (Steph got it off Craigslist). Steph shops for school supplies with Samuel.
40: Our very wonderful next door neighbors - Bob and Mary Lou Filibeck have a pool, and we were happy to borrow it! | July 24
41: July 26 We discovered a cool water fountain in Richardson.
42: Welcome to Samuel's Room! | July 29, I found a bed for Samuel off Craigslist, it had never been used, so Samuel and I put it together. Now Samuel has his very own bed!
43: A U G U S T
44: Anytime we travel, the kids tend to fall asleep in the car. Fast asleep! | August 8. Helbert family reunion in Temple. Asher meets his Great Aunt Ann, and they quickly become friends.
45: Heights park is right by our house. We go there a lot! There is a big field where we fly kites or Daddy's electric plane. We also ride bikes, play on the playground, play in the sand, play tennis, have picnics, and explore the creek there.
47: August 15-17. The Canos came to visit us in Richardson. Samuel and Carolina were glad to see each other! We ate out at Buffalo Wild Wings, and that Saturday went to the Ft Worth botanical gardens, then rode the kiddie train. We also celebrated Andres 2nd birthday and Carolina's 6th birthday!

51: FIRSTS | Asher, Elizabeth, & Katherine's FIRST movie (at the theater) We saw Up at the dollar theater in Plano | September 2. Elizabeth and Katherine's first ballet lessons. At the Heights recreation center in Richardson. Their teacher was Ms. Horn. | August 20, Samuel's first day of 1st grade at Canyon Creek Christian Academy in Richardson. Mrs. Schroeter was his teacher.

54: September 8, 2009. Asher and I met the McDonald family in Tyler TX for the adoption finalization for little Suzie.
56: Trip to Abilene, September 12-13 2009 | of course Nana made PANCAKES for breakfast! | Aunt Vanita & Randy were visiting too. We went to the fair parade downtown, ate at the Staghorn in Cross Plains on Saturday, and at Abuelos in Abilene after church.
58: Ready for ballet class | Asher's first airplane ride. September 25, 2009. Asher, Clark, and I went to Atlanta GA for a funeral. Some dear friends of ours - the Kirby's from Galveston days, lost their twin 2 year old boys. We stayed with the Hightowers, and Carol and Neale gladly watched Asher for us. Friends back in Richardson watched the others while we were gone. | At the park! | September 28, Cowboy day at Samuel's school September 29, pajama day!
59: September 30. Getting ready for Elizabeth and Katherine's birthday. We made a castle cake and made a heart shaped pinata, then filled it with candy and treasures. October 1. We had birthday donuts for breakfast!
61: October 1, 2009. Elizabeth & Katherine's 4th Birthday!
64: October 3, 2009. We had a party at our house for the girls. Randal, Gloria, Brad, Arlene, Mary Sue, Katie, Don, Karen, and David all came that evening!
65: October 10 State Fair
66: October 10, Randal and Gloria came to the State Fair with us. Randal wasn't feeling well that night and the next day at church, Randal collapsed. He spent the next week in the hospital in Plano being treated for colon cancer. On October 15. Daniel flew in from Colorado to be with Daddo. He stayed a few nights with us. | Back at home, Asher is learning to crawl...
67: October 24 back in Abilene again.
68: Trick or Treat | We went trunk or treating at Canyon Creek Baptist Church October 28
69: Papa came down and went trick or treating with us. (He was in town to go to the Cowboy game with us the next day)
70: November 1, 2009. Dad, me, Clark, and my brother Michael went to the new Cowboy Stadium in Arlington to see the Dallas Cowboys beat up on Seattle.
71: November 6 I drove over to Mesquite to see Amber march in her band during halftime.

77: Beth and Katie practice for their recital. They are wearing tutus that Aunt Micah made them for an early Christmas present.
78: This was a very eventful Thanksgiving for us. We met Ben! We remodeled the Elmwood house. We went house hunting and met our Lakeshore house. Then put a contract on it the next day.
79: A Day to Give Thanks | Rollin in the Mercury. Randal fixed this up from a rust pile. It was in a field at the farm for years. It was Randal's grandpapa's car. | November 24. Clark, Steph, Daniel, Micah, Ben and Asher went house hunting. and found this!
80: Thanksgiving 2009 We had a big crowd! Daniel, Micah, Ben, Aunt Vanita, Randy, Randal, Gloria, Clark, Steph, Samuel, Elizabeth, Katherine and Asher This was Ben and Asher's first Thanksgiving!
82: The Elmwood house remodeling project! Clark and I brought a Uhaul full of stuff down to Abilene to work on fixing the house up. In the kitchen we put in new tile, paint, countertops, mini blinds, and cooktop. The rest of the house got new lights and paint. The bathrooms got new paint, shades, and a good scrubbing. 84: Elizabeth and Katherine's ballet recital December 4, 2009 They danced to the song "My Best"
85: HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY to ASHER December 5, 2009 | The candle on Asher's cake was Steph's first birthday candle. Samuel used it, and so did Elizabeth and Katherine!
86: Canyon Creek's Lower School Christmas Program "Christmas In Reverse" Tuesday, December 8, 2009. It was the first time Asher ever clapped. | Samuel is on the back row, in a white shirt. Just to the left of the baptistry.
87: December 14 an evening at the Galleria with Santa and ice cream
89: 12-12 2009 Clark's 34th Birthday Clark and I spent the day with my Dad fixing a fence around the farm house. It was a great day!
90: Happy Birthday Clark! | Back at home Elizabeth helps Mommy get the dressing ready for Christmas. The men mowing next door. Two lawnmowers at the same time. They can mow our neighbor's yard in 10 minutes.
91: December 17 We went to Santa's Village in Richardson There were little houses you could go in and do different activities. December 23 - Graham Cracker Houses!
92: We are ready for Christmas! The stockings are hung, the cookies are waiting for Santa, and Mommy reads Christmas stories. The next morning, SANTA CAME! He brought Samuel some roller skates, Asher a baby basket ball goal, Elizabeth a toy puppy and Katherine a doll. | MERRY CHRISTMAS!
93: It also snowed that night. So when the kids woke up they couldn't decide which to be more excited about... the first snow they'd seen in years, or their presents!!

97: December 26. Mike, Amber, Papa and Grandmommy came to have Christmas part II with us. | MERRY CHRISTMAS!
98: December 28. Christmas part III and Randal's 67th Birthday!
