40: Philly

41: Phil and I made plans to head to Philly for our anniversary when we learned that my friend Jamie would be doing her first Triathlon there. We were super excited to cheer her on. However, the weather turned out to be ugly. We had Eliza in her stroller cheering for Jamie on the bike portion of the race, when the skies opened and rain just poured down. We draped Eliza's blanket over the front of her stroller to attempt to keep her dry, hunched our bodies over the bags in the back and hoped that nothing would get damaged. With loud booms of thunder & scary close cracks of lightening, we made our way to the staging area to look for Jamie. It had become too dangerous to continue the race. Pushing the stroller through huge puddles and mud, we finally found Jamie under a tent -- cold, wet, and worried about us. Welcome to Philly!!
