 Hilton Head
After taking our rental bikes for a spin on the beach, we tried our hand at miniature golf. But with all the golf courses in the area, the mini golf course is apparently the warm up. We did lots of putting and ended up with very high numbers!
so many | We spent a morning kayaking for the first time. Being on the water was really peaceful & relaxing, but Jenn's not sure about trying it again.
LIVE WELL LAUGH OFTEN LOVE MUCH
Mom & Grandma spent a long weekend with us before heading up to Buffalo for Gracie's Birthday. We all headed over the Bay Bridge and found a strip of sand to get our toes wet.
While visiting Gracie, we went to a formal tea and Grandma found a great hat and purse in the store next door.
When Mom and Dad came to spend July 4th with us, we went down to watch a Nationals Game in their new stadium. Although we were in the nosebleed section, our seats were good and we cheered them on to a win.
Bike ride along the Mount Vernon Trail. | With a picnic lunch watching planes take off at Regan National Airport.
After hearing us talk about the fantastic fireworks for years, Mom & Dad came to experience 4th of July in the Nations Capital for themselves.
Our day started early to catch the parade and browse a few museums. After many hours of sitting on the grass, we had great seats for the fireworks.
We had high hopes that after a poor showing last year, we would catch lots of crab...
Unfortunately, that didn't happen... Pizza ended up on the menu for dinner.
We did however, catch a number of blow fish.
Thanksgiving was spent in Cedar getting to know Kamden, who joined the family in October.

At the top of Balanced Rock. Really, the rock is balanced on the edge of the mountain.
Phil and I wanted to do a mock built in bookcase, mount the TV on the wall and hopefully find a electric fireplace to complete the look. We used painting tape to map out the plan and sent several weeks adjusting and deciding if we liked it. Finally we headed down to Ikea and bought cabinets. It would be the first of four such trips. It took longer and was harder to put together then we could have imagined, but we really like how it turned out.
On Columbus Day Weekend, Phil and I went for a long hike near Savage, MD. | Near where the trail meet up with another walking trail was an old railroad bridge.
Kasey loves his tight sleeping spots.
