9: Ixtapa is a beach resort in the municipality of Zihuatanejo de Azueta, in the Mexican state of Guerrero. It is located 5 km to the northwest of the municipal seat, Zihuatanejo. Sea breezes keep Ixtapa enjoyable year round with an average temperature of 78.8 degrees and the sun shines approximately 340 days a year. Zihuatanejo (de Azueta) is the fourth-largest city in the Mexican state of Guerrero. This is an old World Mexican fishing village nestled around a small bay dotted with beautiful protected beaches and no high rises. There are two possible origins for the name Zihuatanejo. The first would be from P'urhépecha language meaning “water of the yellow mountain” and the second would be from Nahuatl (Cihuatlán) meaning “place of women”. Cihuatlán or “place of women” refers to the western paradise of the Nahuatl universe, the home of the “goddess women.” According to tradition, these women arose in the afternoon to lead the sun at dusk to the realm of the dead, Mictlan, to give a dim light to the dead. | Ixtapa / Zihuatanejo

13: Acapulco | Acapulco (officially known as Acapulco de Juárez) is a city, municipality and major sea port in the state of Guerrero on the Pacific coast of Mexico. The name "Acapulco" comes from Nahuatl language Aca-pl-co, and means "At the big reeds" or “At the broken reeds". The city is best known as one of Mexico’s oldest and most well-known beach resorts. Acapulco is still famous for its nightlife and still attracts many vacationers.

15: La Quebrada - Cliff Divers The 'La Quebrada Cliff Divers' are a group of professional high divers, based in Acapulco, Mexico. They perform daily shows for the public, which involve diving 30 metres (95 ft) from the cliffs of La Quebrada into the sea below. The depth of water in the "Gulch" can vary from 6 to 16 feet depending on the waves. Timing is crucial for the divers. During the night, they often hold torches while diving. Acapulco cliff diving was regularly featured on weekend sports television programming in the United States during the 1960s to 70's when film stunt man Ray Austin made the dive.

16: Manzanillo | Manzanillo is a city as well as its surrounding municipality in the Mexican state of Colima. It is the second-largest community in the state, after Colima, the capital. Manzanillo is Mexico's busiest port, as measured by total tonnage and volume of containerized cargo. In 2007, the port moved 1.4 million TEUs and 18.0 million tons of total cargo. Manzanillo is also home to the Navy's Pacific Naval Force. Manzanillo also hosts the most efficient port for tuna landings in Mexico. The city is well known internationally for deep-sea fishing and the green flash phenomenon during sunsets, as well as the warm waters of the ocean. Many tourists go from their cruise ships on city tours or snorkeling trips in Manzanillo Bay, where a 300-foot-long (91 m) cargo ship sunk in a hurricane in 1959 is a popular spot for both snorkeling and scuba diving. Other wrecks and reefs plentiful with fish are scattered throughout the bay.
