Olivia's baptism was held on Sunday, Jan. 9 at McClure United Church, officiated by Rev. Jim Lochhead. Shawn and Carrie McMillan became her Godparents. There was a winter storm the night before and a lot of guests could not make it. We had plenty of leftover food. Olivia was oblivious to the celebrations and decided to start crawling that day! | Olivia's Baptism
Look Mommy! Olivia learning to pull herself up in her crib. Uh oh...time for Daddy to lower the mattress!
January - At 7 months, Olivia was just learning to crawl. She had great fun exploring her surroundings. We encouraged her by placing her toys "just" out of her reach. She thought it was a fun game and quickly learned how to chase after us.
8 months old - Olivia was really starting to pull herself up using her toys and furniture. She enjoyed her toy kitchen and the songs it would play. She had her bottom two front teeth by now and would put anything and everything in her mouth!

We celebrated Mother's Day at the L2 Grill in West Edmonton Mall. Olivia was very well behaved and the other guests thought she was the cutest thing! We then presented Grandma with a digital photo frame filled with pictures of Olivia.
Mommy started planning Olivia's 1st birthday party almost 3 months in advance. I scoured the Internet for ideas and decided on a cupcake theme. All the decor and invitations were handmade. The guests loved getting the cute cupcake invitations. And the loot bags were a big hit - even the adults wanted one. | Birthday Banner Cupcake Toppers | Invitations Loot Bags | PARTY PLANNING!

Mommy and Olivia was visiting one of Mommy's friends when Olivia scalded herself with hot tea. Mommy acted quickly and stripped off all her clothes, but the left sock was taken off last. Even with running cold water on the ankle, the spot quickly blistered. Mommy had to take Olivia to the emergency room to get it treated. Olivia was a brave little girl and let the doctor bandage her up. One month later, the skin had grown back and there is no scar tissue. The new skin is slowly turning brown and the area is shrinking in size as Olivia grows bigger.
This Halloween, Olivia dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood. She loved her basket and quickly understood that she will get treats in it if she held it out.
October 30 - Olivia has asthmatic symptoms, but we don't yet have an asthma diagnosis. As sad as it is, we wanted to rid the house of all allergic triggers. We tried giving Yoshi away but it didn't work out and he came back to us the very same day! It was just as well, Yoshi and Olivia are inseparable pals. 17 months old
November 12 - On our way to Alannah's birthday party, we stopped at Beaners to get Olivia another hair cut. Her hair is growing so fast. This time, she was less scared and enjoyed sitting in the car chair. After, she got sparkles in her hair and she got to try sitting in the duckie chair.
November 17 - Olivia is a big fan of fruit. She loves all kinds. Here is Olivia trying her first mango seed. She had a great time holding it and sucking off the juice and meat.
