12: These are the Hands by Jeffrey Olds... Our hands show who we are and where we’ve been Our hands show our purpose in life; explaining the how, why, and when Our hands describe the people we’ve met and the people we’ve loved Our hands let us help, and hug, and reach for above. And these hands I’m now holding are 95 years young Yes, they’ve aged over time since the day they were sprung But these hands have always been there for nearly a century on earth From weddings and graduations to our own children’s birth. | These are the hands of a mother for the past 70 years These are the hands that comforted, hugged, and wiped away tears. For Harvey & Barbara these hands symbolized strength and maternal love. These hands are a sign that their mother was a gift from above. These are the hands of a Grandmother for over 44 years. These are the hands that celebrated us and praised us with cheers. For Michelle and me these hands offered attention, entertainment and unconditional love. These hands are a sign that our grandmother is a gift from above.

13: These are the hands of Grandmother in-law for over 15 years. These hands illustrated family, friendship, trusting and care For Shawn & Chris, these hands welcomed them to our family with love These hands showed our spouses that Ethel Ruth was a gift from above These are the hands of a Great Grandmother for nearly a decade These hands created memories that will surely never fade. For Rachel, Ethan and Adam, Nana showered them with love These hands are proof that Great Grandmothers are a gift from above. | Nana, you've been there for each of us in so many different ways. You've been loving, supportive and generous for over 34,000 days! You've been part of every occasion we've celebrated over the years. You've opened up your pocketbook so we could avoid financial fears! Now it's time to celebrate the amazing life you've lead. With your family around you, we'll make toasts and break some bread. Happy Birthday Nana! It brings me great pleasure to say... There's no place i''d rather be than to be with you today!

16: I can't believe I am 95 by Ethel Ruth Bateman I can’t believe I am 95 happy, well and still alive. Our family began when George and I were wed. It was a happy occasion as our vows we said. We grew in numbers with the birth of our boy, Harvey at 70 is still a joy. Our daughter Barbara who we all love. Was a gift to us from God above. Then Jeff and Michelle were added to our list Eventually they brought Shawn and Chris. Our family continued to grow and grow. With three great grandchildren as you know. Rachel, Ethan and Adam are wonderful and smart. Their love and joy warm my heart. Then another Barbara was added to our group And now we have a wonderful troop. I wish George could have been here all these years. He would have been so proud of you all my dears. I am so glad you are here to celebrate with me Thank you. You’ve made me as happy as can be.

17: Mom at 95.... By Barbara Olds 95 years old is Ethel Ruth A mighty fine lady and that is the TRUTH! You’re head of our family, we’re proud to say. We’ve come together for your special birthday. You exercise daily, play cards and maj too. You beat us at Spite and Malice, though we’re younger than you. Ethel Ruth a quitter? Certainly not! In all that you do, you give all that you’ve got. We know by you, we are each loved and blessed. Our love for you words can’t fully express. We love and honor you, may all your wishes come true. May God bless and keep you, Happy birthday to you!
