For Brannen and Griffin I love you, Mom

It was an unusually warm January day so Scott decided to wash the car... of course the boys helped!

We had a bowling party for Griffin's birthday at Strikes this year. Everyone had a ton of fun..... including Big Mama, Grandma and Grandpa

I went to have lunch with Granny at her apartment complex for her 87th birthday. Her friends sang 'Happy Birthday' to her. It was so sweet and she was loving every minute of it!

While in Lubbock we went to the Buddy Holly museum, where y'all got the glasses, and had a egg hunt in Kim's backyard.

Brannen has been hospitalized a couple times for his asthma. This time, he was placed in the Maverick room and thought that was really cool. Griff was a sweet little brother and played games with him.

 Going Home!

We met our cousins in Winkler for Memorial, where a lot of our family is buried. Our cousin, David, held church service for us, and then we had a picnic lunch under the huge oak trees.

Griffin with his teachers: Ms. Jen, Ms. Melinda, and Ms. Keisha

Since Brannen's birthday is in the summer, his teacher, Mrs. Tanner, let him bring in cupcakes before the end of school so everyone could sing "Happy Birthday" to him. | 8 | years old

Granny has been to many baseball games in her time, especially my dad and Uncle Gary's games. She even got thrown out of a little league game of Uncle Gary's for razzing the umpire too much. So, to bring her to Brannen's game so she could see him play was a true joy. She totally enjoyed it, as did I. The best part.... she didn't get kicked out of her great-grandson's game. Ha Ha

Griff gets to call the coin toss | #80 in the program, in our hearts | # # 1

 Orange Beach Alabama

 Birthday Boy

We celebrated Brannen's 8th birthday in Galveston at Moody Gardens with a pirate themed party. Big Mama planned it and had our cousins come, as well as Grandma, Grandpa and Mikayla.

On our way home, we passed by the beaches of Galveston. Mikayla said she had never been to the ocean, so we pulled the car over so she could get the sand between her toes. It's technically not the ocean, but it's the best we could do!

 Galveston

Harry Potter | the birthday boys | birthday party | For Brannen's friend party, we had a party with David McLeod and took them to see the Harry Potter movie. We had pizza and cupcakes before the movie.....complete with Harry Potter glasses!

Jakob and Dawson | Thomas | Jack | the whole gang

with Barney | so many | The boys were playing in the clubhouse and noticed Barney had followed them up. That's when we realized he could climb stairs!

"Barney is the craziest dog we have ever had" ~ Griffin Henry 2009

Granny passed away July 30, 2009. We all gathered for the graveside service in Streetman, and then went to Pasadena for the church service. While in Streetman, the boys got to ride around Bob's place in the gator and collect cow bones, which they thought was really cool!

While we were in Pasadena for Granny's funeral service, we stopped by her old house that Todd, Ruthie and Simon now live in. I took pictures of things in her house that I remember the most for some reason. I think I will always remember the sound the door leading to the garage made. I love that the most because every time it opened, that usually meant someone was coming over to visit. Her house was always full of family and laughter, which I miss.

Brannen started 2nd grade and Griffin is in Kindergarten this year!

Griffin was so excited to finally be at the 'big school' with Brannen. His teacher this year was Mrs. Hogue, who he absolutely loved. Brannen was in Mrs. Bass' class, and really enjoyed her. He just didn't want me to take pictures the first day!

Brannen received the Principal Award this year for Outstanding Character. We are so proud of you Brannen We always knew you were a character :) | !

 Girls weekend!

 Trick or Treat

Our church always has a Fall Festival where the kids can dress up in their costumes, play games and get candy. Y'all look forward to it every year...

Every year, the Alts have everyone over for a Halloween party in the neighborhood. We have so much fun, even the parents get dressed up.

Chris and Kim asked the boys to be in their wedding,, so we spent an afternoon getting fit for their tuxedos

 Rehearsal Dinner

 Mr. and Mrs. | Coleman

 November 14th

Ben and Brannen: A couple turkeys | I had lunch with both boys at school to celebrate Thanksgiving..... Griff and his class made pilgrim and Indian costumes.......

...we put the Indian costume on Barney so he wouldn't feel left out of the celebration!

Every year, we go cut down a live Christmas tree. This year, Uncle Chris and Aunt Kim joined us. At the end of the day, Griffin wasn't feeling well...

Here we go again..... | While we were at the Christmas tree farm, Griff started to wheeze a little. He still wasn't feeling well the next day, so we took him to the doctor. His asthma was in full force, so he spent a couple days in the hospital. Dean Phillips was one of his many visitors, and stayed long enough to play the Wii with Griff.

Griffin's teacher, Mrs. Hogue, sent Griffin this picture of his classmates holding up a special message for him. He thought that was so cool! As soon as Griffin was feeling a little bit better, he was wanting to go on a treasure hunt on the pediatric floor. He found everything on the hunt, and was able to pick a 'real treasure' from the treasure chest.

Christmas | Every year, instead of making Gingerbread Houses, we make houses out of graham crackers and icing. It is so fun to see what the boys come up with!

 Getting Ready for Christmas!

Since we are going to Illinois for Christmas, we celebrated early with my side of the family. We spent the day baking cookies, playing, and getting ready for Christmas dinner. The boys played Nerf wars with Tyler, Aunt Jill's boyfriend, and also tried on all of his police gear. They thought that was THE best!
