S: Andy and Beth
BC: We are excited about our future as a family, and we know that we have so much love to give to a child. We want to thank you again for taking the time to learn about us. We cannot imagine how difficult this decision must be for you to make, but we know that it is a decision you are making out of love for your child. Please know that you are in our thoughts. Respectfully, Andy and Beth
FC: Andy and Beth
Dear Birthparent, We are Andy and Beth, and we are trying so hard to become parents. First of all, we want you to know that we think you are truly courageous for choosing to give your baby the gift of life. We know you want the best for your child, and we are humbled by your strength. This book will give you a broad picture of our lives and our history as a couple; what we hope you'll learn about us is that we are just really nice and loving people who will make great parents. We have been trying to have a baby for years but have not been able to conceive. We believe that everything happens for a reason and that there is an extraordinary child in the world who needs us. As parents, we are confident we can provide everything a child will need. A safe home, a good education, and opportunities to pursue interests and talents are just a few of the ways we can provide financially for a child. Far more importantly, we have an abundance of love to give. We will raise our child in a calm, respectful home full of love and laughter. Beth will be a stay-at-home mom for as long as possible, and we will both be involved, supportive parents, loving our child unconditionally. We are looking forward to read-alouds at bedtime, going to the zoo (sharing our love of animals), and playing in the backyard with our son or daughter. We cannot wait to be a mom and a dad. We hope that you will consider us as adoptive parents. We would love to meet with you or talk on the phone to discuss the vision and the dreams you have for your baby. Andy and Beth
2003: We met through friends and made Christmas cookies on our first date. | 2006 We got engaged and bought our house. | 2008: We adopted our "four legged baby" Lucky. | our story | Our first date was set up by friends, boy were we lucky! It became clear, almost immediately that we were a great match. Our shared love for laughing, reading, family and friends clued us in that we were set. After that, we began our great adventure. When we were married, we both took an oath that our union would be for life. We work through any hardships or difficulties in a loving manner, knowing that a long and happy life as a family takes compromise and love. When we purchased our house, it was our goal to find a perfect home for raising a family. | 2007: Hooray! We are married!
Andy is my best friend. When you meet him you will see how big his heart is. His smile and laugh are contagious. More importantly, Andy is a patient man and a listener. Andy is a dedicated and loving husband, brother, son, and uncle. Family is the most important part of Andy's life, and he makes it his number one priority to spend time with family. I know Andy will make such an amazing dad. He is great with our four nieces and our close friends' children. He is playful and kind. Nothing is sweeter than watching Uncle Andy play Captain Hook with his niece. | Andy by Beth | Andy golfing with his young cousin Brady. | Andy at work
2008-2011: Just living, working, and enjoying life, while planning ahead for a family! | Over six years later, we are ready to fill the bedrooms of our home with kiddos! We tried to have children after a few years of marriage, but found we were unable to have a baby. Although infertility has been trying at times, we grew so much in our marriage and are an even stronger team. We are really looking forward to adopting our first child, and feel that everything happens for a reason. We feel confident that adoption is right for us, and know that we have so much love to give to our future children. | 2012: We're ready to adopt!
Andy is the best combination of homebody and adventure seeker. His favorite day is spent by us (hopefully on a sunny day) taking the dog on a walk to our favorite coffee shop for breakfast, spending the day in the yard reading and relaxing, another long walk in the afternoon, and cooking a big delicious dinner together at night. He then loves to snuggle with us (Lucky dog and me) on the couch for a good movie and ice cream. When Andy sees something special, he immediately wants to share it with those he loves. After he spent just a bit of time working in New Orleans, he flew me out to watch Mardi Gras parades and see the sites that he couldn't wait to share. I know that our children will see the world! | golfing with his lady | hiking in Montana | cold day at the beach
I consider myself lucky everyday to be married to Beth. She is one of the most genuine and caring persons I know. She is the one who remembers to send cards on birthdays and to call friends and relatives to check up on them after big events in their lives. She is always up for having fun and makes me laugh constantly, especially when I catch her making up lyrics to one of her favorite songs when she thinks I can't hear her. Being a teacher has taught her patience and understanding. | Beth, by Andy | Aunt Beth at the beach. | In Croatia
Beth enjoys being outdoors whether it is jogging with her friends or cross country skiing with Lucky and me up at the cabin in the winter. She is a wonderful cook and always finds some new thing to try out in the kitchen every week. Beth loves spending time with her nieces and always offers to babysit or keep an eye on them for a few hours. Being a parent is something that Beth has been looking forward to for a long time and I know she will make a wonderful mother. | With our new niece Avery | Beth the fifth grade teacher | Chilling at home Lucky.

She has been teaching at the same elementary school for 10 years. 3. Beth's fifth graders love the songs that she invents to make learning fun. 4. Beth plans to be a stay at home mom for as long as possible. 5. Beth enjoys running, outdoor activities, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Get to know Andy a little better... 1. Andy is 37 years old and is 6" 180 pounds. 2. Andy has a Master's degree in Oceanography. He responds to oil spills and ship groundings and helps to create restoration plans for these incidents. 3. Andy gets to SCUBA dive, hike on beaches and sometimes travel for work. 4. Andy lived in Honolulu, Hawaii for graduate school but is happy to be back home in Seattle. 5. Andy enjoys golfing with friends, reading, fly fishing, walking the dog and spending time with his family.
Andy grew up in Missoula Montana with his younger brother. In 1989 his family moved to the Seattle area where he attended high school and college. Andy still has aunts and an uncle that live in Missoula which he and Beth try to visit every couple of years. He also has grandparents who live in eastern Montana whom he sees every few years. His parents live down in Olympia now (just an hour drive from Seattle) and Andy and Beth visit them or they come up to Seattle a couple of times a month. Andy's brother Peter is now married with two young daughters (Andy and Beth's nieces) and they also live down in Olympia near Andy's parents. | Andy's Side of the Family
Andy's family is still very close, including extended family such as aunts, uncles and grandparents. With both Beth and Andy's family so near by it makes holidays easy allowing visits and the ability to spend time with both families. | Andy's Mom and Dad | Andy's brother and his family
Beth grew up in an extremely close family. Beth is the oldest of three kids, and we consider her parents, brother, sister, and their spouses to be our closest friends (along with Andy's family). We are extremely lucky to live just a mile away from Beth's brother Tim, his wife Michele, and their two young girls. We see them once a week, and know that our kids will be very close to their cousins. Beth's sister Emily and her fiancé Brendan live up in Bellingham, Washington, near her parents. Beth speaks on the phone with Emily and her parents daily. Beth's parents cannot wait to have a new grandchild! | Beth's side of the family
. | Beth's Mom and Dad | Beth feels very fortunate to have had such loving parents and a happy childhood. She remembers always feeling safe, loved, and listened to. We want to give our children that same experience. Beth remembers when she would have family group hugs in the kitchen, and cannot wait to do that with her own family. Another favorite memory of Beth's is cutting down a Christmas tree as a family, and then decorating while singing Christmas songs. We look forward to having our own family traditions! | Beth with her sister Emily and niece Kaelyn.
our friends We consider ourselves lucky to have such wonderful friends. We enjoy cooking dinner with friends, jogs and brunch (Beth), golfing with friends (Andy), and overnight trips to our cabin. Most of our friends have young children; we are looking forward to our kids joining that crew. We love watching the little guys jump on the bed together and play alphabet train. We cannot wait for our child to join in the fun.
Lucky has been in our family for about 5 years. He is 18 pounds of fun. We rescued Lucky from "Ginger's Death Row Dogs" and are thankful that we made this choice every day. Lucky is probably about eight years old. He is shy and gentle, and loves long walks and the snow. Our nieces love Lucky, and he is very sweet and patient with them. | Lucky Dog
Our home is in a quiet neighborhood of Seattle. We can walk five minutes from our front door to Lake Washington for a swim, or a few blocks to our favorite restaurant. With four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a cozy basement and large, grassy backyard it is perfect for us and our growing family. We live close to one of the best elementary schools in Seattle, and many of our close neighbors have children who love playing in the neighborhood. | home sweet home
We both spend time working in the yard, and love being outside. When the weather is warm, we spend time grilling and entertaining outdoors.
One of our guest bedrooms is right across the hall from our bedroom. It will be perfect for a nursery. | Our living room: We spend time in this space everyday. We're in here the most on weekends, reading, chatting, and relaxing | Our room Future Nursery | Spare Bedroom/Future Nursery
The kitchen: This is our favorite room of the house! We look forward to big family meals and cooking with our kids. | Our downstairs T.V. room: We enjoy relaxing with a good movie. This room will make a great playroom in the future.
Rest and Adventure: Family Cabin, Travel, and outdoor fun! | Hiking to our family cabin to spend Christmas in the snow. | Cross country skiing at the cabin. | Swimming at the lake house in Bellingham. | Horseback riding in Iceland. | Hiking in Montana. | Biking in Maine.
We promise to... Love our child unconditionally. Always listen. Say "I love you" with hugs and words, everyday. Be open with our child about his/her adoption. Read to our child and tuck him/her in every night. Give our child a solid education and instill strong values of kindness, curiosity, and respect.
