FC: Enjoy the little things in life...for one day you'll look back and realize they were the big things. | The Candioto Family 2008 - 2009
Our New Home in PARADISE!! Dad spent endless hours getting the ground ready, overseeing the workers and even doing some of the building himself. Mom, Cade and Kendall did most of the inside painting with a little help from Gramps. Dad spent many nights sleeping in the unfinished house, working late at night just so it would be ready to move into before school started. We were so excited when moving day finally came and received help from the Edward's family moving everything from the loft to the new house.
(text) | Cade's first year of football, he played fullback and defensive end, a position he would come to love. He learned a lot his first year and even scored his team's first touchdown of the season. Dad helped Matt Edwards coach the team, and Cade really enjoyed being out on the field with him. Although it was pouring down rain, even the tradition of riding in the homecoming parade was something he loved doing.
Fall 2008 | Fall always means the beginning of another school year. Cade started 3rd grade and had Mrs. LaFreniere, where he met many new friends. Kendall started 2nd grade and was lucky enough to get Mrs. Gentry, Cade's teacher from last year.
Kendall enjoyed playing another season of soccer with Maddie Mitschke and Cade and Dad hosted a camp out for the football team, inviting everyone to our high attendance day at church. They both really loved watching their cousin, Kendall, play football for Liberty Christian. | Cade and Kendall both got skate boards to try out on the new driveway at the house.
Cade was Indiana Jones and Kendall got to fulfill her dream of being a football player as the kids enjoyed trick or treating around Decatur with the Mitschkes and the Fords.
UIL Competition | This was Kendall's first year to be able to do UIL and she competed in Oral Reading and Creative Writing. She had a lot of fun practicing with her friends and especially missing a day of school to go compete.. Cade had another successful UIL year competing in Storytelling and Ready Writing. | The UIL team always feels special when the entire school lines up for a send off.
Kendall and Dad went to the Gaylord Texan's ice exhibit with her class. Hadleigh Anthony, Maddi Terry and Kendall posed with Santa and told him their Christmas wish lists. The hotel provided the students with "high fashion" outfits to help keep them warm during the tour.
Mom was able to take off work and go with Cade the next week to enjoy the ice exhibit in Grapevine as well. Cade had lots of fun hanging out with his friends, Mrs. LaFreniere and especially mom!
 C H R I S T M A S
'08 | The Christmas Eve tradition switched locations this year. Uncle Mike, Robert, Kendall and of course, Grams and Gramps all came out to the new house to see Santa and Mrs. Clause. | C H R I S T M A S
 Christmas morning!!
Our first Christmas in the new house!! Cade and Kendall got lots of good stuff from Santa and Mom gave Dad a deer feeder to fed our "pet" deer. Unfortunately Mom also messed up her back pretty bad hiding the very heavy present.
Who needs Santa when you have Grandma! | Christmas at Me-ma and Pa-Pa's
Holiday in the Park at 6 Flags!! | The Fords had tickets to Holiday in the Park at 6 Flags so of course we just had to go. It was all decked out in Christmas decorations and the rides were fun as always.
Kendall's team went undefeated this year. The team celebrated their successful season with a sleep-over at our house. | After the Little Dribbler Season was over, Cade was asked to play on the Wise County All-Stars, a select team he would play on for many years to come. | GO ALL-STARS
Kendall was in a school play this year called ""Dino-stars". Mom and Mrs. Anthony spent quite a bit of time on Kendall and Hadleigh's dinosaur costumes but it paid off...they sure did look great! | Hadleigh, Maddie, Kendall, Christina and Kaycee
First Annual Trip to the Girl's State Basketball Tournament!! All of the moms decided that if the girls were ever going to play in Austin for a state championship, they needed to see what it was all about (and have a little fun along the way). | A stop for lunch at The Olive Garden | Swimming at the hotel in the heated pool | Maddie and Kendall shared a room | Kendall, Maddie, Hadleigh and Addy (along with their moms) met at the Mitschke's house for an exciting weekend in Austin.
waiting in line to buy tickets | A picture taken with Whitney Ennis, one of Alvord's best players who just finished playing for a state championship. | watching from the stands and hoping to play on that court some day | Our "bad girls" smoking in the back of the car. Those candy cigarettes better be the only ones that touch those lips! | Christina, Kaycee and their moms met us the next day to watch the games. Taking a picture with Bevo's statue was pure torture for Hadleigh and Addy, die hard Texas Tech fans.
Every year the school does a big cookie dough sales fund raiser and to motivate the kids to sell lots of cookie dough, they offer a limo ride and lunch at Pizza Hut for the few that meet that goal. Cade, Kendall and even Mom worked very hard so that they could experience the fun of a limo ride.
Kendall met Amanda Cherryhomes this year and they immediately became great friends. The first time Amanda spent the night, Kendall introduced her to the big mud puddle in the back yard, also known as the new pond dad was making. We wondered if her mom would ever let her spend the night again, but thankfully she did. | Unfortunately this would be the last year that the Edwards family would be in Paradise, but luckily Cade and Tucker got to play football together this season. | GOTTA HAVE FRIENDS!
Spring Break 2009 We decided to take a short trip over Spring Break to Glen Rose. We had heard about the dinosaur fossil digs and the amazing wild life park, Fossil Rim, in Granbury so we decided to give it a try.
Before actually heading off to Glen Rose, we went to the Ripley's Believe It or Not Wax Museum in Grand Prarie. It was amazing to see so many life like statues and scenes. | One of the kids favorite movies... The Wizard of Oz. | What a beautiful display of the life of Jesus. The kids "listened to" Jesus' Sermon on the Mount and marveled at the life like crucifixion statue. | Cade posing with long time hero, Superman!
We enjoyed going to Dinosaur Valley State Park, digging for dinosaur fossils and wading in the cool river water, as well as getting some close up and personal time with the animals at Fossil Rim.
Instead of playing Baseball this spring, Cade decided to play Soccer with Kendall on the always competitive Mitschke team. He was a great addition and they both had so much fun playing on the same team. It sure made for an easy spring for Mom and Dad too.
Kendall celebrated her 8th birthday with a ton of friends at the Decatur Skating Rink. She then invited two of them (Aubrey Pearson and Maddie Mitschke) to our house for a birthday slumber party.
Make a Wish! | HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KENDALL!
The newest addition to the family came in the form of an adorable puppy from the Mitschke's litter of Australian Shepherd puppies. We named her Bella and her playful personality and good looks immediately won everyone over in the family.
Another new addition to our family was Kendall's mare, Isabelle. Kendall had been saying for months that she wanted a paint mare and when Mrs. Carmichael, the school nurse, advertised a mare for sale, we just had to go take a look. She was beautiful and Kendall knew right away she was the horse for her!
Alexia | Mrs. LaFreniere | Mrs. Gentry | Nolan Graves, Tucker Edwards and Cade at the end of the year awards ceremony. This was also Cade's last year for GT with Mrs. Berry. He enjoyed dressing up as Captain Deciduous for the GT showcase. | Hadleigh Anthony, Kendall and Maddie Mitschke were all recognized as being top AR readers in their grade. Congratulations, girls!
Of course the best part of the end of the school year is Elementary Play Day. The kids both enjoyed competing at the track but had the most fun hanging out with their friends in the water. SUMMER....HERE WE COME!! | PLAY DAY!!
 FATHER'S DAY 2009
 Summer Vacation: Branson, Missouri
There were so many fun things to do and see in Branson. We rented a boat and spent an entire day out on the lake fishing and tubing and enjoyed getting sprayed while watching the huge waltzing fountains. We even went to see the Shepherd of the Hills play where the kids saw an enormous statue of Jesus.
 Silver Dollar City
We all had so much fun at Silver Dollar City that we went back for a second day of fun. The lines were extremely short so we got to ride our favorite rides over and over again. It was so much fun!
Branson is known for having lots of really fun shows so even when the sun went down, there was still plenty of fun to be had! | The Dixie Stampede and The Elvis Impersonator were the two shows that the kids decided they wanted to see. The food was awesome at the Stampede and the horses were beautiful. "Elvis" sang Great! He sure did look a lot more like the real thing up on stage, though.
This year Cade really got a surprise when we drove him to a lady's house in Springtown who raises Shih-tzu puppies. Here he picked out his new best friend,Koda! It was love at first sight! | Happy Birthday, Cade!!
Cade celebrated his birthday with some of his friends at the Denton Water Park. | Then we stopped at Braums for Cake and Ice cream and to open presents. | Grams and Gramps took all of us to the Mesquite Rodeo to celebrate all of the August Birthdays. The kids had a great time and Cade even participated in the calf scramble. Although he did not win, he still had fun.
