FC: Mike & Kim
sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart | Believe it or not, we met almost 20 years ago in 1991! We are both now 36 years old. We went off to college in different cities, but kept in touch the entire time and ended up in the same city for our last few years of college. We relocated back to the area near where we grew up, and continued dating until we married in 2002. Kim has been a lawyer with the same agency for 11 years and Mike has been an engineer with the same company for 12 years. | Hello. We are Mike, Kim, Ella, & Ivy. We fill each other’s hearts and lives with joy and laughter, but we would also love to provide a happy and fun home to another child. We love to go on occasional adven-tures together but we also like to stay home on lazy weekends and relax and play together just as much.
When Mike is not working you might find him working in the yard, playing sports or watching action movies. When Kim is not working, you might find her working on crafts for a Brownies meeting or for Sunday School, or bargain-shopping with the kids. We both choose to focus our lives around family, and so we do not work overtime or weekends. We have always spent our time together playing cards, or playing outdoors, or watching movies with friends and family. We also love to travel to other states once or twice a year, and see new sights and learn about new areas.
months later Kim gave birth to our daughter Ella, and in 2009 gave birth to another daughter, named Ivy. They have become very loving sisters toward one another, and still have so much love left to share. | So now, in addition to playing cards and watching movies, we also have things like fishing, soccer, girl scouts, legos, Barbies, and “playing dress up†in our lives . . . but we wouldn't have it any other way. We both find our quality time with our children to be the most beautiful thing that we have. We have dinner together as a family every night, even if once or twice a week it is not necessarily a “home-cooked†dinner. And maybe we don't dust or wash the windows as often as we should, and maybe we donâ't put away all the toys all the time, but we love to spend time together as a family and sometimes the chores just have to wait. | Soon after our marriage we decided to start our family. In 2003, we bought a house, in an A-rated school district. A few
About Mike, by Kim Ever since I met Mike, I knew he was a great friend and great listener. I also learned that he is not a judgmental person, which is a very important quality to me. I found that he was open to hearing my own, and other peoples' thoughts and opinions on issues rather than feeling like he was always right about everything, as some people are. We also quickly learned that we also love to laugh together. Later in life, I was so lucky to learn what a hands-on, caring father he would be. To see and experience that makes me love him that much more. He is truly a partner to me in our home. But we still love to laugh together. After putting the kids to bed, we turn on the TV and share time together, just us, watching usually comedy TV shows. Sometimes he gets to laughing so hard he can’t stop and his face turns red, which then makes me start laughing just as hard. This is one of my favorite parts of our relationship and one that I think helps keep us smiling together, every day.
About Kim, by Mike Kim is a very caring wife and mother. She selflessly devotes as much time and energy as possible to our household, and does it all with a smile. She is also the planner in the family, preparing dinners, packing lunchboxes, scheduling doctor visits, and planning vacations. She is a very peaceful and loving person, and handles all of her responsibilities without stressing out. She is also a great teacher to our daughters, and always strives to help our daughters understand new things when they have questions. I feel very special that she is my wife.

About our extended families Because we live so closely to where we grew up, we have many grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters and cousins nearby. Mike has a grandmother, both parents, aunts and uncles, sisters, and nieces and nephews all within 30 minutes of our home. Kim has a father, brother, and several cousins within the same distance. We all plan our birthdays and holidays together, and feel blessed that we have such a great family. | Mike with his sisters and their father
Our lives so far We live in a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home, in a very quiet community. We have a large playroom, but really there are toys and games in every room of the house. We also like to play in the back yard in the sprinklers, or play ball, or walk down to one of the community parks to play or fish. But we also like to get in the car and drive down to Dairy Queen now and then too!
We still love to travel once or twice a year, going to Washington D.C. to learn more about our Country, or just to a water park to run around and play. We have many more adventures ahead of us. If it turns out that another child can become a part of our family, we would be thrilled. But we understand and fully respect that with adoption, that is not our decision to make. We sincerely wish you the best of luck and support in your journey and decision. Kim, Mike, Ella and Ivy
