Thank you Dudu for everything, especially the wonderful memories we have shared together. Happy Birthday, Lu

Your passion for life has infused all of your children, daughters (in law) and grandchildren. You have given us all a better understanding of our world, a greater curiosity of our surrounding environment and the empathy to address everything we see around us. Obviously, we wouldn't be here without you; what isn't as obvious is that we wouldn't be who we are without you. Love, Steve

You are a great dad. You were a great dad years ago and you are still doing a great job to this day. You have shown and continue to show your three boys by example what it takes to be a great dad. Love, Daniel

You are the best. Period. Full stop. Love, Michael

While some may think he is soft and even-keeled, this renaissance man is excited, loud, and passionate about his life. I cannot imagine being married to any one else on this earth for 59 years. I love you. Elke

Eugene V. Debs once said that Chicago was “unfit for human habitation.” He never would have so defamed the windy city had he met our Chicago born, lifelong educator whose boundless love for his family, strong desire for justice, and perfect mix of humor, culture and wisdom have awed and will continue to awe generations of Bermans - what a human! Love, (Alpha) Michael

Dudu nurtured a wonderful clan And he plays like a family man At Old Maid and Oh-shit and Mille Bornes, the big hit, He beats us whenever he can. While this may sound like it's just kids' play It's a pleasure for him in its own way. And he also has fun With Alice-his 'one', We all know what happens on Wednesday! With warm thoughts of sitting around the table and playing together! Love, Judy

My dear ex-husband, I have adored you as long for as I can remember. You let us "boop" your nose, made us laugh with dirty jokes, and showed us it was healthy to break the rules every now and again (despite our parents' protestations). Here's to many more Siesta Key sunsets and simchas filled with joyous Yiddish songs! Love, Mara

I remember when you bounced me on your knee and sang to me "You're in the army now..." I guess I took you seriously. Love, Eitan

I have always known you to be a great person, I just never realized how amazing you are until I grew up and now I understand how much you've accomplished. Anyone who says you are anything short of an incredible man just hasn't gotten to know you yet! Love, Gil

Just look upon your kinderlach & grandkinderlach to see your remarkable legacy. You have a lot of naches. Love, Lauren

I wish you a wonderful new age! It is so inspiring to see your curiosity for the world, your love for your family and your respect for your wife. I am very grateful to be part of your family! I hope we have many more opportunities to bike together and play mille bornes! Stay sweet and lovely! Big hugs, Ines | Thank you for teaching us all to be passionate, loving, and humorous people. I will always appreciate you for keeping our family so close and for maintaining all that is special about being a Berman. I love you! Love, Shira

Your wise words and lessons you teach in everyday living continue to impress and inspire. The love you have for Elke, your children and grandchildren has made “FAMILY FIRST” a Berman motto. Love, Gita

Throwing me around in the pool when I was 5, putting together scavenger hunts for the Stevim at Sea Castle, finishing my lunch for me when my eyes are bigger than my stomach, and appearing out of nowhere on the phone when Bubbie's been talking for 20 minutes; these things and more make you the best Zadie a guy could ever hope for, and I aspire to be as meaningful and positive a figure in my grandkids lives as you have been in mine. Love, Oren

There aren't so many of us- grandchildren of this Zadie. That's a distinction we all wear with pride. Your warmth for others and curiosity of the world have always been model qualities for the whole clan. Thank you for being so involved and a true force in all of our lives! Love, Vivi

The life of an inspiring person is like this: in the Navy, flutist, college professor, father of three boys, loving husband, civil rights activist, amazing grandfather, great tennis player, and doing it all in 85 years strong. Love, Matan

You have always been an amazing story teller. I remember countless times listening to you ad lib stories, most notably about the multi-generational "Cowboy Sam and Cowboy Joe." As I've gotten older, you have continued to tell me stories, mostly surrounding your own life and insights into the world. There is rarely a time when I don't walk away with another beautiful story full of humor and wisdom when I talk to you. Love, Noah
