28: Newspaper picture of me at the prom was sent to Dick who was in the service. It was sent by Boodie Gear who was married to my cousin Hugh. He wrote back to ask Boodie shy he had never met me. We started writing and when he was home on leave he came to see me in Madison.
29: In September I went to see Dick in Pueblo, Colorado where he was stationed. Gram with with me and we stayed with his cousin. Dick gave me an engagement ring.
30: On way home from Pueblo I spent a few days visiting Charlotte who was a nurse in Chicago.
