BC: The End!

FC: MilkWeed | Jerry Spinelli

 To My mom and Dad

Entry 1 July 8 I survived off of stealing my whole life, I knew nothing more. I ran down the streets as people said "Stop thief!" But I didn't stop i just kept going running is one of my favorite things. I ran into an alley and noticed someone was chasing me, I knew i could out run him but the people in the road kept pushing me down. "My name is stop thief." Misha pg11

Entry 2 July 13 The man that was chasing me he was friendly, his name was Uri. He took me to a horse stable one day where there was about 5 other boys. They all laughed at the way i looked and how scrawny I was, they all asked me questions about my family and how old am I. But i couldn't answer i didn't know i had a family or a name. "Are you a Jew?" Olec pg 16 They all keep asking me this question and i don't know how to answer all i have is the yellow stone around my neck

When you look at your life the greatest happinesses are family happinesses. ~Joyce Brothers

Entry 3 It took a while for the guys at the stable to warm up to me, but they told me something that I will never forgot. " See that yellow stone around his neck? He's not a Jew boy but a Gypsy boy!" The Kid with no name. I'm Gypsy and proud! I wonder how i got the stone maybe my mother gave it to me as a boy, now i know i have a family. Every night these sirens turn on and when they do Uri tells me to hide in the den, I didn't know why but every morning after the sirens the buildings are destroyed.

Entry 4 August 6 | "You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you." ~ Leon Trotsky

People rushed, a weird noise approached the town. Uri and I walked down the street as everyone ran. "Jackboots, stay here don't run" Uri I couldn't just stay still every one else was running so there i was off so fast people didn't even see me. I got to the end of the crowd and i couldn't believe what i was seeing. Big metal cars with cannons and men in fancy suits marched down the streets. All of the men gave me strange looks and called me "Jew Boy" and "Filthy Jew" Why though I am a Gypsy

Entry 5 Life is getting hard these men that invaded our city brought war with them. Every night planes flew overhead dropping bombs, The Jackboots patrolled through out the night and day. It was getting harder and harder to steal. I met this girl I was going to steal her cake but couldn't. Today a Jackboot called me Jw and at the top of my lungs i shouted "I'm not a Jew, I'm a Gypsy!" Misha

Entry 6 I don't know whats going on my mind is a blur. Where's Uri where am I will I ever get out?Why did the good men put me here? Every thing is so different here. I can't steal or get out of the walls that tower around the new city. They keep calling me Jew, why? I'm a Gypsy. "You shall live here now Jews." Jackboot

Entry 7 I'm in this place. With my family, my grandfather denies that he is a Jew. Me myself accept myself as a Jew now even though I'm not. Last night they lined up all the boys that they think were stealing, one boy got caught and was killed. Me and Uri saw Olec dead hanging with i sign that read "I stole and this is what happened". We told the others and everyone shook their heads. " Why are we cursed while they parade around in their fancy suits!" Enos

Entry 8 I found a way to get outside the wall and get food for everyone, but i had one problem i had a follower the girl kept following me on my trips and I worried for her she was my only family i didn't want her to end up like Olec. When i came back from my trips I fed all of my family and friends. "You can't come with me you saw what they did to the other boy who stole you need to stay!" Misha. Life is getting harder and harder.

Our attitude toward life determines life attitude towards us. ~Earl Nightingale

Entry 10 I grew apart from my family and started living in the streets. I saw Uri very little now. Its spring and the milkweed is out. The white fluffies filled the sky, I don't know what to do now. I saw some of the boys last night, I don't know how things are going to end up for me. I might just sneak out of the wall.
