 FIRST TRIP TO THE TEMPLE
Being a missionary, I have gained a stronger testimony of families and temples. I still remember the feelings and impressions I felt the first time I went to the temple. The family is ordained of God, I know that because I have seen the effects that poor family relationships have had on families. I love my family and know that I can be with them forever. That is the greatest thing anyone can ever have. Everything in the church points to the temple and families. I know that this is what God wants for us. -Jacob Barney
KRISTA AND SAM BRINGHURST Krista and Sam began their eternal family on January 3, 2009, in the Jordan River Temple
"I am incredibly grateful for the knowledge I have that families are eternal. Those relationships with family are the sweetest things in life and to imagine that they would end is awful and unthinkable. The comfort of knowing that in any disaster or tragedy, I will still have my family, no matter what may part us for a time, is so dear to me. I am grateful for my Savior who made these eternal bonds possible. I know He lives and because of that, we will too, together as families. -Krista Bringhurst
 A new family created!
I guess my testimony of eternal families has been shaped by the experiences that I've had in our family growing up. The whole idea of having an eternal family was something that was always taught and emphasized. It seemed like everything we did, whether it was family prayer, scripture study or family home evening, it was always focused on the goal of developing that eternal family. Now that I'm grown up and have started a family of my own, it's become even more of a focus for me. I know that the most important thing I can be doing is building my own eternal family and raising up righteous posterity to the Lord. -Ryan Barney | Ryan and Heidi started their new, eternal family in the Draper Utah Temple on March 16, 2011
Our Family vacations always take us to see the nearby temples.
I love my family because of how fun they are. They are part of a small group of people who understand my jokes. I know that because of the temple and the ordinances done there, I will be able to spend eternity with them. It's still in my hands, but if I live righteously, I will live with them forever. -Sam Barney
I love my family. It's as simple as that. I'm so glad that I get to be with them for all eternity. There isn't anyone else I can think of that I would rather be with forever than my family. I can't wait for the day that I can be married and sealed in the temple to my own wife and start a family of my own. This is one of the greatest blessings Heavenly Father has given me. -Spencer Barney
Wonderful Examples! | I am so sure that our family is going to be together forever on earth and in heaven. I am so grateful for them and all they do for me. -Lauren Barney
Being on this earth to work out my salvation is a journey of immense joy because of my family. I am more grateful than I can express for the sealing power of the Holy Priesthood. My family is my most wonderful blessing. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. Being with them and every member of my family in the celestial kingdom will be my crowning jewel. -Denise Barney
Ezra 3:7 "And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets. . . to praise the LORD." | God is our Father, Jesus Christ is our Savior, and families are eternal. Knowledge of these truths brings meaning and substance to our relationships and all that we do. Our family brings joy and helps us fulfill our purpose in life. It is an experience that is not to be missed. -Kevan Barney
