1: You gave us years of laughter, love and memories. We will cherish our time with you always and your passing will leave a hole in our hearts. Thanks for being a great Dad to Brad and I, a wonderful husband to Mom and an excellent Grandfather to Colby, Duncan and Isley. We will miss you terribly and will love you forever, With love, Scooter

4: You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you as you are to them. -Desmond Tutu

9: Oh how we danced on the night we were wed We vowed our true love though a word wasn't said The world was in bloom, there were stars in the skies Except for the few that were there in your eyes. The night seemed to fade into blossoming dawn The sun shone anew but the dance lingered on Could we but relive that sweet moment sublime We'd find that our love is unaltered by time.

17: Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

61: Cause there's holes in the floor of heaven and her tears are pouring down, that's how you know she's watching, wishing she could be here now, and sometimes if your lonely, just remember that she can see, there's holes in the floor of heaven, and she's watching over you and me. - Steve Wariner

70: Marriage is not a ritual or an end. It is a long, intricate, intimate dance together and nothing matters more than your own sense of balance and your choice of partner. - Amy Bloom

79: There's something like a line of gold thread running through a man's words when he talks to his daughter, and gradually over the years it gets to be long enough for you to pick up in your hands and weave into a cloth that feels like love itself. - John Gregory Brown

83: Seeing death as the end of life is like seeing the horizon as the end of the ocean. - David Searls

85: After a long conspiracy, but relatively short battle with cancer, Robert Lionel Adams (Bob) passed away peacefully on May 18, 2010. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, and high-school sweetheart, Gayle Adams (nee Shepheard), their two children Brad (Stacie Wilson) and Julie (Ryan Pollak), grandchildren Colby and Duncan Adams and Isley Pollak, siblings Betty, Barry and Alan and numerous other cherished family members, including close friend Don Squires. Bob was born and raised in Victoria, growing up in Oak Bay and graduating from Vic High School in 1963. As a youth, he enjoyed playing baseball and riding his bike- perhaps he even delivered your newspaper? Bob had a long career as a pressman at the Queen's Printers, from where he retired in 2000. In his adult life, Bob enjoyed spending time with his friends and family cruising on 'Avianca', lounging at Shawnigan Lake, golfing, and he had a strong interest in mechanics and classic cars. Bob was fortunate to have life-long friends, with whom he shard many memories; friends he still frequently met for coffee and "bullshit". A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Cedar Hill Golf Course, 1400 Derby Rd, on May 26 ,2010 from 1-3pm. Wear "happy" clothes! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, BC Cancer Society or Victoria Hospice Society. Rest in peace Bob, you were taken from us too soon, but the lessons you taught and the love you gave will remain in our hears forever.
