1: He was born on January 31, 1919 in Cario, Georgia. Went to UCLA for a few years than left for the army. Was arrested and discharged after refusing to sit in the back of a segregated bus during boot camp.
2: After leaving jail and being discharged, Jackie Robinson Joined the Negro Baseball League. | Branch Rickey selected Jackie to help integrate MLB | He was put on the Montreal Royals, a farm team of Rickey's Brooklyn Dodgers.
5: Jackie Robinson had to promise to fight back to any violence or threats from the whites After a season with .349 Batting average Jackie was promoted to to The Brooklyn Dodgers | Jackie made history on April 15, 1947
6: Jackie Robinson became the first African American to play in the MLB
7: Jackie became known as the man who broke baseballs color barrier.
8: Jackie and his family had to deal with many hardships during his career, but got through it.
