1: Jessica- The Senior Motto really describes your life....it has been very full; you have already lived much life in your years! After recently going through the boxes of your life, I must admit, I started to glow with pride, you have done so many things, and you have done so many things well, in fact many to the best of your ability. As I looked through all the papers, news clippings, report cards, awards, old photos, etc...it feels as though is was just yesterday that I remember you doing those things, but somewhere within those events, toothless smiles, and pig tails you grew up, grew up into a young lady. Jessica, I am so proud of you. Your are responsible, loving, giving, you have respect and empathy for others, yet you know how and when to stand your ground. You are a beautiful person- inside and out! You have many friends and are a friend to so many. Always remember, you can never have too many friends. When you were in 4th grade you were knighted for "Perseverance" that word described you as well then as it does now. You are the one that does not give up and you keep pushing yourself forward. I know not everything has come easy to you, but it has never stopped you from trying, or picking yourself back up..Now as you begin a new chapter in your life, there will be many new exciting firsts and also times that you will be faced with difficult decisions. I pray that you always do the right thing, keep your faith in God and follow your dreams... .your life can take you anywhere, and you can accomplish anything you want to. Jessica, I love you and I wish you nothing more than a full life in every one of your precious years! XXX & OOO Love and Prayers - Mom
2: Jessica, I am a lucky father to have been blessed with such a wonderful daughter. We have shared so many happy times together and created memories that will last a lifetime yet I know I will miss not having you here in our home every day. It seems like yesterday that I watched you graduate from Head Start and here you are already a graduate of High School. You've accomplished so many things in these past 12 years and participated in so many activities that I don't think I can list them all. You have become an amazing young lady and you have made me a very proud Father. So now you are off to college and I can tell you it will be exciting and stressful and crazy. It will be full of new experiences, new friends and new ideas and you will learn a lot about the world and its people and you will especially learn about yourself. As you move away from home this fall you will experience more independence and responsibility so I have included a few things for you to think about. Remember to keep yourself grounded, don't think yourself too good or sell yourself short. Be confident in your ability to accomplish just about anything and be persistent in reaching your goals. Always remember the "Golden Rule" just like mom reminded you before school every day. You are never too old to say "please", "thank you", and "I'm sorry". Be kind and generous and have faith in humankind no matter how difficult this can be. Learn something new everyday. Don't believe everything you are told. Never apologize for who you are or where you are from. Treat your old friends with the same enthusiasm you do when meeting new friends. Do what is right even if it hurts and always tell the truth. Smile. Remember you always have God and Family and we all love you. And finally, I am you Father and I will always be here for you. With all my Love, Dad

38: Yesterday Today, and Tomorrow There are two days in every week that we should not worry about, two days that should be kept free from fear and apprehension. One is yesterday, with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed, forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed. Nor can we erase a single word we've said ---yesterday is gone! The other day we shouldn't worry about is tomorrow, with its impossible adversaries, its burden, its hopeful promise and poor performance. tomorrow is beyond our control. Tomorrow's sun will rise either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds---but it will rise. And until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is yet unborn. This leaves only one day--Today. Any person can fight the battles of just one day. It is only when we add the burden of yesterdays and tomorrow that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad --it is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday, and the dread of what tomorrow may bring. Let us, therefore live one day at a time! Kellie ~
39: While you graduate, I can't help but think of how much is going to change. You will be heading to college in the fall while I go back to high school for my junior year. I am going to miss you so much. I will miss our late night talks and movies, the way we randomly burst out into song or laughter together, and I will miss doing everything I do with you. Looking back on all these memories of you and I makes me sad to think how fast we've grown up, but more than that it makes me happy because of the great times we've had together and the great times we will continue to have together. I am lucky to have such a warm hearted and caring person as you to call my sister, you're more than my sister, you're my best friend. So, while you're at college, have fun and don't forget to call me when you get the chance. Good luck Jessica, I know you'll do great. Love, Sarah Elizabeth
