S: KYLE: A Story of Love

FC: Kyle: A Story of Love

In loving memory of Kyle Steven Van de Wetering beloved Son Brother Uncle Friend Born: August 18, 1977 Died: February 16, 2010

Once upon a perfect time, upon a perfect day, the sweetest little babe was born, on angels' wings he lay.

And upon that glorious day, this gift, this baby boy... his entrance in the world became the cause of so much joy!

She'd hoped for his arrival. Inside her heart she'd prayed that Heaven's grace would burst its band and love not be delayed. | His mother loved him dearly, as deep as oceans blue. And when she gazed into his eyes she knew that dreams came true.

His father, though not prideful, was bursting at the seams. | Two sons, he now had two sons, oh what joy, what plans, what dreams!

The soccer and the football, the baseball and the track. Basketball and swimming, and... "Oh, someone reign me back!"

But there's no need to harness love. It needs vast space, you know. And both the young boy's parents made sure plans to help love grow.

And each day the space was proffered 'tween sunrise and rising moon in time that passed too instantly and disappeared too soon.

His sisters thought him princely, his beauty and his grace, his large brown eyes and ruby lips upon his comely face. They dressed him in their dolls' clothes. They took him out on walks. They fed and bathed and nurtured him. They helped him learn to talk.

And each new day was cherished 'tween sunrise and rising moon... | ...in time that passed too instantly and disappeared too soon.

His brother waited eagerly (on that you can rely) for him to grow, grow grow...

for as you know, know, know boys will be boys (despite all their toys) with creepies, crawlies, slitheries, and buzzy things that fly. The boys had so much fun between sunrise and rising moon in time that passed too instantly and disappeared too soon.

They named him Kyle ...a name that happens to rhyme with "smile."

He kept his family smiling through so many happy years. | His precious little spirit was so active and so dear. | laugh | hope

When a younger sister came, a careful guard Kyle kept. He loved to touch her tiny nose and kiss her while she slept. One day the baby woke up with grandiose expression. "She open she eyes all by she-self," was the boy's confession.

He grew into a young man who looked for ways of serving. In his eyes there was no soul who was not all deserving. The elderly, the lonely, the poor, the weak of heart, the destitute, the helpless, in their lives he played a part.

These moments of compassion gave breath to how he lived. His greatest offerings each day? The love he chose to give.

Maybe they should have named him | LOVE

For his hugs | spread a warmth

teddy bear | like a huge

from the tips of your toes

to the ends of your hair.

Yes, his heart was so large and his soul was so deep. There were thoughts he did share.

There were thoughts he did keep.

He was full of such life and he knew how to play, to live in the moment bringing joy to each day.

He was yellow inside like a bright daffodil that reaches towards sunshine on the crest of a hill.

Yes, maybe they should have named him... LOVE.

Yet... Love craves more than space to grow. It needs a constant feed of goodness, truth, and confidence to tend each fragile seed.

In the springs of Love on Earth we merely dip our toe in hopes that the outward ripples will touch each one we know.

That which flows upon this earth is just a taste, a sigh. The true source of its perfect light has its fount in realms on high.

And if a soul is bless-ed with a glimpse from up above, how rare the moments are that we are truly bathed in love. | Its cool, refreshing healing; its cleansing, soothing balm is written in Christ's open arms and printed in His palm.

Love came gently one bright day

then left us in the night. ---------------------

Without the wish of faithful hearts, all hope might’ve lost its light.

Yet... Love doesn’t end when it leaves this world on angels' wings carried higher, but fills the Heavens with its glow, and only grows the brighter. | Still... Once upon a yesterday, without a clear tomorrow, Love’s exit from the world became the cause of weighty sorrow.

Grace came down to take Love home on angels' wings Kyle lay, carried upward in repose until that last great day

when we shall see his face once more.

United, we’ll rejoice to hold him in our arms again, to hear his tender voice.

And each day we miss him dearly from sunrise to rising moon.

It wasn’t time to say goodbye. He disappeared too soon.

You left us all too soon, sweet boy, you left us all too soon.
