Without my mother and father, I will not be able to see the wonders of life. But the big question is how did it all started? Well the story goes like this, my mom is looking for a course for college in Manila. First she took up biology, when she took the practical, she passed the entrance test but on the day she was looking for her section, she can't find it only to find out that the passing grade was raised and she was one of the few hundred affected. So succumbing to find a course, she chose accounting, for it was the start of the semester and she will be able to enter that course because there is no need for a entrance test because she was the valedictorian back in high school. So she finished that course and she then worked as a trainee in SGV in where he met my dad. Eventually they grew closer until on June 19 1993, they finally got married.
Why are most of them not here? Well, most of my family members are in the United States, seeking for a better future for their children and also because my grandmother on my mother's side resides there. Even though most of them are a million miles away, we always communicate with them through the modern technological advantages we have today especially through chatting and in social networking sites like Facebook.
My Family Our family can be described as the most steadfast of all. My mom is a very loving and funny mom while my dad is very hardworking and very loving. I am the only child, but I don't get spoiled like others. They also disciplined me into who I am. They helped me discover the realities of life and specially on how to cope with it.
Well, as a family we had numerous hardships like the financial crisis and most recently the Ondoy tragedy. During the financial crisis, my mother took a lot of loans because I was very sickly back then for I was only 2 years old (1997). We really had a hard time in coping with our financial needs. We had to stop building the our house in Antipolo (in which It was only finished Nov. 2009) and we also payed rent, electricity and other bills very late. After that, recovery was slow. We had no more money to cope with the rising cost of renting houses so we moved in to our house even though it is not yet finished and was very bare. After those financial difficulties, comes a surge of blessings. My mother was promoted as she transferred to a better company than before. My dad has numerous housing projects in line for his work as a contractor and of course we were able to pay our debt and increase our standard of living. And the best part is that we were able to share that surge of blessings in other people who are in need.
Well one of the greatest challenge in our family is the recent Ondoy experience. It was not only us affected for we had relatives in Marikina and low parts of Antipolo. Most of my relatives wanted to help us by bringing us food and water but they can't do it because all of the roads going to our place was impassible due to high waters. My 18 year old cousin was stranded in her house at Antipolo and she was only rescued by my uncle using ropes that resemble that of crossing a very wild river. | The Family That Helps Each Other
Well to cut it short, though I'm the only son, I have lots of relatives my mother has 6 more siblings, which makes me have 20 or more cousins from her side alone, while my father has a sister, which adds up another 5 cousins plus my mother's cousins which total up to 20 or more which adds at least 50 or more second cousins and my father has 10 or more cousins which leads me to add another 20 second cousins. If you will try to count all of my relatives, your head will surely ache and good luck if you will be able to count all of them. | The Extended Family
 Reminiscing the Past
