FC: By Katie Troyer | Memories of North Carolina -July/August 2009
Digging into the gift bag and finding all kinds of little treasures from Linda. | Abe is taking Iva on a walk. Iva is recovering from some surgeries done in Mexico. Iva gets the best of tender loving care from her husband. Plus the rest of the family pitches in too. And then their friends come around with food and fellowship. What more can Iva ask for? | Amy Strain loves to serve.
Crystal Troyer's wrist watch. Love it.
Fan with little boys - Mark & Dorcas' youngest son and bottom picture, Weston Troyer and Craig & Mary's son.
Micah Troyer & Linda Weaver at a Wednesday evening Prayer Meeting. I know I shouldn't have snapped a picture as it made Micah peep. But I was taking pictures as this was Linda's send-off for her year in Mexico. | Like normal Ruth Anne entertaining little girls, Jaime and Megan Weaver.
I am just pretending like I am riding a Four-Wheeler. | Esther Weaver engrossed in a book. | Sheba just can't take it if someone else gets more attention than she does. (Pouting)
Lily - reminds me of my great-niece Lily, in name and color of her beautiful hair. | Marigolds | Iva's flower from Patty Lafave
Three different editing of the same old house | This old house holds many secret memories of years gone by.
I don't remember what these bushes are called but they produce rich purplish/red berries. Years ago my Brother Eli crushed these berries and smeared his face and arms and came walking in the lane. It was a little bit scary to say the least. He was the color of the red boar we had in the pig pen. He even claimed he is that red boar. This was just one of the many things we did as children in the late 50's.
Then I continued my ride down to the old house. It looks so inviting to explore again. But I didn't get any closer than this spot because I coughed and out flew Turkey Buzzards. I am no match to these birds and so I quietly left... | I took a scooter ride down the backside of the farm. I met up with a lot of bugs & wildflowers. I passed a bull with his harm. We eye-balled for a long time and both decided we will leave each other alone.
Showing Sheba the in's and out's of the keyboard. | Abe has decided it is high time for Sheba to be trained in computer work. She could be such a big help in the office. It would give Barli more time to help with the housework and free Huck up to manage the office better. | Ruth Anne is placing the computer down to Sheba's reach in front of the fireplace on a beautiful home made rug.
Ruthanne & Barli checking Sheba's excellent computer work! | With a bit of probing and the promise of rewards, she mastered the computer within five minutes! Great work! Sheba! Du, I am just a dog. vomit.
The Old Gate | The Old Gate Thistle Down, enough to line a jacket. Well, not quite enough so the squirrels can use it to line their winter homes. | This Butterfly is living out it's last days. It has probably lived out it's summer days to the fullest according to the expectations of a butterfly.
Barli gleaning | Two peasants gleaning
Finished in this place | Ruth & Barli
"Next time we are going to wear pants instead of skirts and shoes instead of sandals."
Gleaned Butterfly's favorite food | This reminds me of Ruth gleaning in Boaz's field.
Humbled and hanging heads down on the back porch. | ...and this morning it has been placed upright into the old milk can.
Self-posing for a shot. | I normally don't get between married couples, but it doesn't look like this is a problem here... | Ruthanne's turn for a sip of coffee. | mother - daughter
Sheba wears a Sunbonnet. Sheba doesn't know she is a dog and so she doesn't act like a dog. | ...and she smiles when she is proud of herself. And she helps Barli with her last year of school. She can think better if she wears a bonnet.
