S: Our Trip To The Cincinnati Zoo, July 2010
We saw lots of interesting animals at the zoo that we had never seen before, like the Przewalski's Horse above and the Red River Hog to the right.
The Japanese Macaques were adorable. | Its Cleaning Time | We saw so many different monkeys and apes it was hard to choose a favorite. | The Gorilla was just chillin' | They were hoping the spray from the waterfall would cool them off, but the plan didn't work.
Gabe couldn't wait to ride the shark. | Justice up close and personal with the animals in the Cat House. | Justice only chose the lion because the wolf was taken.
SOME OF OUR FAVORITES | Gabe's Komodo Dragon | The Pallas' Cat | Justice's Baby Buff-Cheeked Monkey | At the Top is one of Mom's Favorites the Emperor Tamarin
There are no White Lions left in the wild and only a few in captivity. We are very lucky to have gotten to have seen one in our lifetime.
If that stork is really what delivered the baby there wouldn't be billions of people in the world. It was scary. | Could that be Jacob Black in his wolf form? Justice was hoping it would be.
The Spaulding Children's Zoo in the was great. The kids spent $1.50 each feeding the animals. | Mom like the aptly named Baby Doll Sheep the best, but Justice liked the "cow-goat" the most.
Mom was so excited when she found out there were Manatees at the zoo. She kept following the map to see when we were close. Turner and CC Baby were soooooo cool! We could have watched them swim forever, or at least Mom could. Its sad to think the manatees, like so many other animals we saw, may not be around much longer if we don't take care of our environment.
The quality of life on this earth is dependent upon how we treat the rest of life on earth. We have a moral responsibility to look after the rest of the world, the future of which now lies in our hands. - David Attenborough
Mom Loved the Botanical Gardens. Everywhere you looked there were gorgeous flowers and interesting plants. If only she had the time and the know how to make our yard look like that.
It was hard to get Gabe to stand still for a picture, but he finally agreed to a group shot. (That's Mom's hurry up and take the picture look, just in case you were wondering.) | Nanny and Babe in front of the giant water wheel.
We took a much needed break in The Garden of Peace under the sukkah. Although the adults would have enjoyed a little peace, Gabe does not understand what quiet reflection means yet. Mom and Justice both think he ever will.
You can barely see the kids coming out of the Mountain Mist on the opposite page. The mist was so thick you couldn't see the person waking beside you. It was definitely a highlight of the trip.
The Cincinnati Zoo was awesome!! We had a great time. It was the perfect almost-end to our Summer Vacation.
